Indian team becomes no 1 in the ICC ranking but they stay number 1 for only 24 hrs (or less then 24 hrs).

This is due to lack of planning and also because of over confidence. Indian team knew well about the strenghts of SL team playing at the Premadasa stadium but Indian team couldn't come up with any plan.

There is also a huge lack of consistency in team's performance. Both Austrailia and South Africa show consistency therefore they stay at the top.

Really... Is it planning which wins matches?? One man took away the match from India - Jaisurya. Also Sehwag and Gambhir's absence did not help India's cause.

Team has one last 7 series, what else do you call consistency? If South Africa and Australia were more consistent India would not even be close to them It is just 3 points between top 3 teams, makes the competition close and interesting.

What a collapse. Now i am glad that Pakistani team didn't collapse for nothing in the Sri Lanka series.

Well incidentally two titles were shared (Match washed out) but I guess that appears as a defeat when you are sitting on that side of the fence. Anyways, From where I see reaching these 20 finals is in itself quite an achievement.

India move up to second spot in ICC Rankings

Dubai, Sep 15 (PTI) India regained the second spot in the ICC one-day rankings following their tri-series triumph in Sri Lanka and are in with a chance to clinch the top spot if they manage a good show in the Champions Trophy.

India moved back up to second in the ODI Championship table following the 46-run victory over Sri Lanka in the final of the tri-nation series played at R Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men had briefly enjoyed the top spot in the team rankings after beating New Zealand earlier in the series.

But slipped to the third within 24 hours of that win after being beaten by the home side on September 12.

The same day Australia beat England by seven wickets at Lord's to sneak ahead into second position.

LOL, no more #1?

Why are these rankings are so bad?

#2 is not too bad webby. we needed to win all the matches to sustain it, but lost a match against SL. hopefully we will get there.

More than the rankings what is important is we won the tournament and this, if i m not wrong is 8th consecutive win in ODIs and we did it without Sehwag, Gambhir and Zaheer.

Again Sachin showed his worth with a classy 138. What an innings. He did not take a single risk until the over he got out and still his strike rate is 103.

:victory:
