Incredible India - Tourism places

This was Temple carved out of a rock like the Ellora temple, it was partially destroyed by the islamic invaders and by an earthquake in early 20th century.
It is a pity that this sculpture, in addition to the finger part, is more like a natural formation. Another one cultural heritage was destroyed in the war.

It was not destroyed due to war. The war WAS to destroy these "unholy pagan" things.

IT was a deliberate destruction of carvings and Temples like the destruction of the Barmyan statues in Afghanistan.

You can go thorough this tread, ANY defaced statue you find in this tread is deliberate and wanton. Which is 90% of all heritage structures in India.
