Seriously this letter today made me actually realize supporting PTI was a good decision. No matter how they end up but they have started well.

Letter made no specific, unambiguous promises about the rights of women and minority groups on the part of Pakistan yet affirms unsubstantiated systematic allegations of human rights violations elsewhere, accusing HRW of "selectivity", pretending ignorance of HRW's actions elsewhere (and claiming it's HRW's task to prove otherwise).

I have my own beefs with HRW - their attitude is that scurrilously attacking Israel is easy, "low hanging fruit" to bring in donations to their organization - but this response from Mazari smacks (perhaps unfairly) of Pakistan still selling the same old snake oil even after seventy years. It would have been better to say nothing right now, instead working for real change that HRW would have had no choice but to praise when challenged.

No it is a good response to HRW. when you say that response to Israel is not correct I agree with you because HRW is only talking on Israel and taking no concrete steps. Like many countries around the world have been sanctioned on bases of Human rights for small reasons and Israel violating human rights is never been sanctioned instead receives aid from many countries and continues its violations.

No it is a good response to HRW.

It can only be considered "a good response" if Imran Khan's government plans on not fulfilling its election promises, taking no concrete steps to improve the lot of Pakistan's women and minorities. The Mazari letter contains numerous escape clauses from doing so.
