In Pakistan’s olive-rich tribal areas, lone oil plant begins operations

@Dubious can you please open a pvt thread for us?
Do you still need this? Sorry I just saw this :)

Wild raspberry is already in Pakistan, I failed in raising blueberries
Berries need a chill period to flower (Not all MOST varieties)
Very strange thing is my house is in Pindi not even close to any desert area like tharparkar or sind.

MANY plants will grow but not all will flower...without flower there would be no fruit!

Agreed but that doesn't stop me from experimenting. Except for blueberries no experiment has so far failed, lets see if I live through another 20 years.

Yum yum...esp on pizza and in soup!!

Not fair, already had my dinner, nonetheless I am so happy to learn there is a serious effort to increase olive plantation to atleast 10 million acres, once we cross 4.5-4.7 all edible oil imports will be finished.

Yes I head the same...

But we also need plants to squeeze the oil and refine it...

As promised first picture is mexican lime, this one is at our rooftop garden for experiment, damn bugger fruit is over 600 gm.

Second one is picture of two varieties of grapes which I brought from Brazil (Red one) and Afghanistan (Green one)

I was just telling someone I put few seeds of Ajwa (dates) and Mabroom (dates) good news is that they have sprouted 5 plants ajwa and 3 plants mabroom, another 19 years to fruit, however the point is that Ajwa and Mabroom could be grown in Pakistan. Very strange thing is my house is in Pindi not even close to any desert area like tharparkar or sind.

Wild raspberry is already in Pakistan, I failed in raising blueberries, so next two experiments are coffee and cocoa

Have u ever tried growing vanilla? Its a very profitable commodity and heard a kilo costs north of 500 dollars.
