A conventional war can only go on for so long before that threshold is breached.. most likely by Pakistan who will use a tactical weapon to take out an ingressing Indian formation, and everything goes to hell from there.

and as repeated many times before, Kashmir (Indian part + AJK/GB) as a sovereign nation is not feasible. Landlocked, no resources, surrounded by 3 nuclear powers. What resources do they have ? Are the going to charge India and Pak a pretty penny for river water ? How many carpets can they sell to sustain an economy ?

Just not doable, so why not be realistic and set aside some of that religious fervour and look for a compromise solution like LoC = IB ? Which, btw, would not be a popular position for Indian Nationalists.

LoC into IB would be the most ideal situation. This is not the BJP's stance btw, not a good political strategy to float such an idea because the opposition would jump on them for being weak (and vice versa if the Congress would be in power)

What Kashmiris may or may not want is irrelevant when 2 nuclear armed countries are staring each other down over it. Which is exactly why war is not an option.
