Islamabad: The owner of an American restaurant chain in Pakistan is offering free meals to any Indian visiting the country on a short-term visa, in a novel reaction to reports that a Pakistani family was refused accommodation by hotels in Mumbai.

Iqbal Latif, who runs 26 franchises of international food chain Dunkin' Donuts in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar, took a leaf out of Mahatma Gandhi's book to show how neighbours should be treated.

"It's not a big deal, but an effort to invoke the teachings of Gandhiji who preached love and coexistence all his life," Latif told Dawn News.

The way things are going in India, soon this might be true as well...........plus look at the bright side, Indians would be able to enjoy meat without having to worry about getting killed as per the Vedas.

KARACHI: In a move to promote 'Goodwill Gesture', the owner of a franchise eatery in Pakistan is offering 'a free meal and a doughnut' since October 16 to all Indian visitors, in response to the rising extremism in India against Indian Muslims and visiting Pakistanis.

According to reports in local and foreign media, Iqbal Latif owner of 26 franchise outlets of the eatery across Pakistan, decided to offer free meals to any Indians visiting the country on a short-term visa, after reading news of a Pakistani family of six from Karachi who were forced to spend the night on the street following denial of accommodation by multiple hotels in Mumbai.

The promotional poster on the facade of all outlets illustrate the flags of both countries and give the message of ‘PEACE AMITY AND UNDERSTANDING…to promote harmony, peace, understanding, and love between two neighbours.’

The reports in media further said that Mr Latif felt compelled by the experience of the family among other recent incidents involving the Shiv Sena as well as mistreatment of Indian Muslims and visiting Pakistanis, and considered it vital for promoting love among the people of Pakistan and India.

According to reports, the response to the ‘Goodwill Gesture’ has been overwhelmingly positive with customers loving the idea and sales going up at most outlets since the offer.

Any data on how many are the beneficiaries of this magnanimous offer so far !?

HHHahhaa,, Pakistanis are truely the most shameless. They are behaving the outdated bitches even though Shiv Sena Kicks the *** of a Pakistani Umpire.

Meanwhile, Indian embassy staff in Islamabad, must been gaining weight.... and all of Indian foreign office must be hoping to get transferred to Islamabad.

Any data on how many are the beneficiaries of this magnanimous offer so far !?

Not so far..... but we'll think to setup ministry to cater such inquiries.

A fine gesture which will of course be riddiculed by the radical and extremist thinkers but this is without a doubt a fine gesture.. Its not the amount of visits or concrete data of customers who benefited from this but its the thinking behind this that the people of Pakistan are a peaceful nation who would not bring the animosity of the two governments come between the unision of the people of both nations.... That a simple gesture is a reminder to many extremist thinkers and believers especially those that refused to give a roof to the Pakistani family despite it being their business that this is how you should treat your guests.

.
It is a bullsh!t gesture. Shame on Dunkin Donuts and that idiot Latif or whatever his name is.
