In Future we should get Gripen NG for our AF

Yes we need aircrafts. But we cannot afford Gripens(The thread is about gripens).

I am also against acquisition of Gripens because they are 'worthless' as frontline combat planes for any air force. Only South Africa, Thailand and Czech Rep inducted them in small numbers because they foresee no conflict in the near future.

Our case is vastly different. No to Gripens for dozens of reasons which reinforce each other to build up a case against the acquisition of Gripens.

Bangladesh is 'poor' state heading towards becoming a social welfare state.

What social welfare state? BAL's wholesale looting is now called "social welfare"?

The countries you compare Bangladesh to:
1.India-middle income country(Bangladesh is low income country).Faces conflict with Pakistan and China.

"Middle Income" and "low income" are 'artificial distinctions'. Both economies are more or less on par (on per capita basis). If you are a Qatari or a Japanese, both the countries will look equally poor.

Another analogy: If you live in Burj Khalifa, a 9 storey building will be about as tall as a 10 storey building. Just because the latter requires two digits (using base 10) when it is written does not mean these two 9 story and 10 storey buildings are in 'different classes'.

Also, the most significant threat to the existence of independent BD.

2.Burma-military regime

Another minor threat, of nuisance value, but should neve be ignored.

3.North Korea-Military first policy(Dictatorial regime)

Yet, its GDP per capita is comparable to BD (even despite all their hardships isolation and sanctions). And their military might is incomparable to BD (i.e. DPRK military far superior than BD military in total 'power' despite however much many Westerners may curse it).

4.Syria-Dictatorial regime backed by military

Still not a very 'large' or wealthy country.

5.Armenia-6 times per capita gdp than bangladesh, higher HDI.

In that case, why does Brazil or Norway operate so few fighter aircrafts, but the world's largest dump with the highest number of illiterates and hungry operate so many (mostly outdated) fighters?

By the way, do countries purchase fighter aircrafts on a per capita basis, or on an 'aggregate basis'? Do countries ask Chinese, or Russians to sell X number of fighter aircrafts PER CAPITA, OR do countries ask Chinese or Russians for X number of fighter aircrafts in TOTAL for their airforces?

If your pick is the latter, then what does Armenia's per capita GDP have to do with the discussion?

6.Belarus-15 times per capita gdp, high HDI,part of the soviet union.

7.Uganda-1/3 of the parliament is appointed by the military.the have 17 fighters in total.

EVEN Uganda got 6 Su-30, and BD got no Su-30.

8.Jordan-5 times our GDP per capita.higher HDI. Situated in the most volatile region on this planet.

9.Singapore-Exploited it's ports(their ports has been being used by nations since time immemorial)Very high HDI,Very high gdp per capita.

In that case, why does Brazil or Norway operate so few fighter aircrafts, but the world's largest dump with the highest number of illiterates and hungry operate so many (mostly outdated) fighters?

10.Yemen-Dictatorial regime until last year.

Bangladesh had 'dictatorial' regime from 1947 to 1991, and bi-dictatorial/duopoly rule since 1991. What did Bangladesh get?

For us to increase our military spending will mean we will of to cut spending from other projects.Kindly name some projects that we should discontinue to fund our military. Our monetary policy is not a military first policy.Human development is prioritized in our system. You cannot change that.

1. Reduce corruption.

2. Raise GDP.

3. Cut BS spending on women's rights nonsense and other projects supported by Western NGOs.

4. Many other examples.

By social welfare state I meant not the BAL government but the whole country. There is not much of distinction between BNP and BAL on their economic policies.WE are partly socialist economy. Our government is responsible for providing us with health, education unlike capitalism. We are going to become a social-welfare state.

India is the biggest threat we have. But is it as much a military threat as it is an administrative one?How do we get rid of compromised politicians.Lets be fair they have infiltrated both the parties!Don't you think they have a significant threat from the west and north if they concentrate their forces on us.And should we 'request' China to help us improve our relations with Burma.Burma is a Chinese power base. They should also be against any Indian influence. They should be our brother in cause. As Loki said we should go for j10/j11 and better SAMs.But whatever we do we could not possibly match the huge military of India.Strong and clever diplomacy should be our ultimate weapon.

Nonsense.

Almost every country in the world has public schools, public hospitals etc, but that does not mean they are 'social welfare' states, whatever that may mean in your parlance.

Your beloved Hindostan and even tree dwelling Burmese also operate public schools and hospitals, so how are they different from BD in that regard?

In any case, the 'best' schools, universities, hospitals etc are arguably the privately owned ones.

India is the biggest threat we have. But is it as much a military threat as it is an administrative one?

What do you mean by "administrative threat? If its military consisted of 1 million half naked Gandhis wearing loin cloth, then whatever plots they have hatched would never have succeeded to any extent as none of the parties would have cared two hoots about them.

How do we get rid of compromised politicians.Lets be fair they have infiltrated both the parties!

That is a discussion better left for another topic, it has nothing to do with military affairs or Gripen/other fighter aircrafts.

Don't you think they have a significant threat from the west and north if they concentrate their forces on us.

Yes.

And should we 'request' China to help us improve our relations with Burma. Burma is a Chinese power base.

Burma is of nuisance value. To be a 'potential threat', the enemy must possess the intent, and the capability. The Burmese lack the latter.

Due to outnumbering BD massively, the Hindostanis possess both, BUT IF WE RAISE OUR FORCES TO 1/2 their level, we would have them on the run due to our troops' superior quality in many aspects of warfare.

They should also be against any Indian influence. They should be our brother in cause.

Clarify. Your statements are ambiguous.

As Loki said we should go for j10/j11 and better SAMs.But whatever we do we could not possibly match the huge military of India.Strong and clever diplomacy should be our ultimate weapon.

We could OUTGUN them, not just match them.

That rat worshipping cesspool is still reliant on imports for all major weapons systems. Where would they get weapons in times of war?

We only need to leverage our relations with wealthy Muslim world, as Bangladesh is a part of Muslim world, not Hindu world (something that BAL and co. trusts in).

Secondly, we MUST align with the most probable economic, industrial, military and scientific powerhouse of the world (i.e. China) of the near future for us to beat those Sangh Parivar fanatics into oblivion.

You do understand that you will get banned if you continue using that kind of language, don't you?The west and gradually growing east are moving towards 'ultimate' capitalism. If universal healthcare is passed in the US everyone will have insurance and the government won't be spending money on healthcare.Public schools are mostly funded and maintained by local governments and not the federal government. Our largest spending from our budget is education. Our government has t maintain huge public hospitals and medical colleges and provide costly medical education for almost free.Regarding Burma, they are in the Chinese block, shouldn't we ask them to join forces with us so to keep India busy from attacking our eastern borders?

Burma eventually will come round. It will take time but it will happen. All indications point to that direction. Indian influence in that land is temporary at best.
