In focus: Saya-e-Khuda-e-Zuljalal leaves a positive mark
The movie Saya-e-Khuda-e-Zuljalal, is one you definitely shouldn't miss out on!

Saya-e-Khuda-e-Zuljalal, was a much-awaited movie for one simple reason, its different, its patriotic and it has a great star cast, and fortunately, the movie has succeeded in leaving a lasting impression. The demanding plot and the edgy, gritty and raw situations, perfectly recreate the 1965 war sequence. Hence, SKZ makes a perfect espionage thriller, which is different from the terrorism based films we have seen earlier.
Simply said, SKZ is based on a number of true stories from the 1965 war and it reveals the brutal reality of those times, hurling the viewer into the midst of an inferno of twisted metal, shrieking shells and human agony. What intrigued us was the way the jawans fought the war, just so our people could live in peace.
When they [Jawans], became heroes, it wasn't because they wanted to be, it was because they were thinking of their motherland, Pakistan. SKZ, is probably the most vivid and visceral war film ever witnessed on our cinema screens.
Truly, the jawans who freed Pakistan from the enemies & terrorists were a bunch of ordinary mortals, who have been immortalised by Umair Fazli in this flick. The director deserves an applause for the finale, as the fight at the border will blow your mind and can easily be termed as the icing on the cake.
Undeniably a brilliant director, and among the best cinematic storytellers, Umair Fazli’s work is embellished with razor-edged dialogues, amazing cinematography, well executed war sequences and effective background score.
As far as the music is concerned, it gels well with the mood of the film. The story and screenplay by Dr. Tauseef is terrific, the action stunts and direction by Umair Fazli is outstanding, the editing is sharp and crispy, and last but not least, the production design is fantastic.
The performances
The movie had many outstanding performances, and the talented and impressive star cast includes Moammar Rana, Essa Ch, Javed Sheikh and Sohail Sameer. There were also some good performances by Arbaaz Khan, Kamran Mujahid, Rambo, Shafqat Cheema, Asad Malik & Iftikhar Thakur. The villains (Aamir Qureshi & Nayyar Ijaz) on the other hand, are strictly average.
Among the leading ladies, Rachel Gill stands out from the crowd and looks extremely hot. The masses will definitely love her character. Nimra Malik also looks very cute, Jia Ali looks stunning, and Noor Bhukari acted really well.
On the whole, SKZ is a powerful experience. It has power-packed sequences that remain etched in your memory even after the show has concluded. Simply speaking, SKZ is the best patriotic film of the year. Give it a watch!
