Sugar. Its the number one enemy. Sugar substitutes (in diet sodas) are also bad in excess.

Sugar is actually what the body loves to turn into fat (the fat we eat is a lot harder for the body to synthesise into human fat especially if its unsaturated).

I thought Mallus are pretty healthy & less obese compared to their North Indian counterparts. Fat Tax in a state like Punjab would be a big revenue earner.
