In 2014, countries are still paying off debt from World War One

.
Why is that surprising? That small island conquered all of your 'country' with a couple thousand men, when your GDP was 5 or 10x the size of that tiny irrelevant island. That small island with no manpower or money conquered 20% of the land area of the world, a larger empire than any in the history of mankind.

And till this very day, that small island produces more goods and services (GDP) than your huge nation, despite your country having 20x the number of people. And besides all this, it's simple fact that this small island largely financed and provided manpower for the war (in concert with France, and less so, the USA) on it's own.

Clearly you have no knowledge of history.

It was not UK which conquered India, it was the worlds first MNC called the "East India Company" which hired INDIAN mercenary soldiers and captured various kingdoms by various wars, intrigues and deceit. India became part of the "British empire" only after the 1857 war for freedom. Till then India belonged to a public limited company. The Queen literally forced the company to hand over the reign to UK.

The world back then was not ready for such a monstrous entity. Most kingdoms worldwide only had experience in dealing with other kingdoms, They had some concept of honour and dignity. Not MNC's with no morals and no sense of Responsibility but only a desire for profit.

ALL the manpower and Money came from colonies like INIDA. In fact the major chunk of the British treasury came from India.

Today per capita income in India is one of the lowest in the world. So pretty much EVERY country in the world is above India, nothing special about UK about that. But UK is responsible for India having the lowest per capita income in the world.

Yea whatever floats your boat. The East India Company was British, and the mercenary soldiers that were Indian comprised a negligible number of the total men at arms. You would have us believe that Indians conquered India in the 19th Century.

Only someone extremely ashamed of their own history would resort to such semantic child play.

We were referring to World War One.

My only reference to World War 2 was India's paltry production abilities. Your Indian friend was referring to how India provided most of the resources for World War One, and in response I referred to how India was barely able to produce a couple dozen of the tens of thousands of aircraft that the British Empire produced.

I doubt it was any different during WWI

It is you who is using cheap rhetoric's to propagate a lie. I am Proud of my nations History, since it is we who won the war for you

Of course the East India company was British, but the mercenary soldiers who fought for them were INDIAN. Only the officers were British.

Of did you think the soldiers from UK were superhuman where 1 UK soldier = 1000 Indian soldier ? :coffee:

When the British first began colonizing India, there were very few Indians involved. Pretty logical, isn't it? Or were Indians stupid enough to colonize their own country for the sake of a foreign power from the get-go? That is even more sad.

.
Funny. I thought INDIA financed the war single handedly with both cannon fodder and Money stolen from India. :coffee:

I guess No one needs to pay back the money stolen from India to finance the "war".

Take a deep breath, learn something about the history of WW1 and stop writing this nonsense.
