On the occasion of ‘Police Martyrs Day’ on Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has appreciated the individuals martyred in the line of duty.

The cricketer-turned politician took to Twitter to commemorate the individuals around the country, who were slain in the line of duty while protecting their country.

“On Police Martyrs Day, we salute our police martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the nation and its citizens,” Imran stated.

Furthermore, the PTI chairman went on to vow for a more fortified force, giving instance of their Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rule.

“We are committed to strengthening the police force across all provinces, as we did in KP, by making it a merit-based, professional force free from pol interference,” he stated.

Murders happen everywhere. You cannot stop that. Murders happen even in Countries like Norway and Denmark the happiest countries in the world. If somebody wants to kill you he won't be going to the police to inform them of his intentions.

Strong law-enforcements units is a must in order to enforcing laws on citizens everywhere, so there won't be any authority gap to be filled by illegal gangs.

Police in KPK is far better than rest of Pakistan. I don't give any credit to Imran Khan for that. It was already like that even before PTI came into power.
Because people in KPK have tendency to hit back in revenge, while in Punjab and Sindh, people themselves place their asses in front of police to hit there hard.

best method would be to introduce a comprehensive training institutes for the police force in each province for maybe 2-3 years of training with gaps of service in the streets the training should not only focus on the conventional police training but also these new recruits should be given training with accordance to the region . this should include comprehensive CT training with the region in mind dessert,mountain,urban etc . they should also be taught skills for the given tasks such as dealing people in large cities or dealing people in rural areas and also language courses for regions which have influx of international tourism.
and finally the most important part the new recruits should also be given a university degree which the will learn in the 2-3 years of their training which should be free of cost.

such a comprehensive retraining of the police force will not only make the domestic security apparatus robust be also help in improving various social,economical fields pakistan is behind eg tourism,education,

Not better in equipment, better means better in public dealing ! They speak like human while talking to other people and don't bark like bitches of Punjab police.

And I never said they are ideal police in the world. They are just better than Punjab and Sindh police and you will feel it when just enter into KPK from Punjab and talk with them.

How is that justifying a murder? Pakistan has one of the highest gun ownership in the world with millions of illegal guns. You expect it to be murder free? Too many nutjobs out there. But in KPK you won't be shot like in Punjab in dealing with Police. In My experience with them, they are much more well mannered then rest of the police in Pakistan and are less likely to accept bribes.

The police in KPK is an example for the rest of Pakistan. I have witnessed it first hand and my experience is very positive.

With friendly countries like China or Turkey , having vast experience in modernization of Police department we can certainly learn some lessons

If Police Standards are Federally controlled it will make it easier to improve quality
