Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan showed his willingness to join any grand alliance of opposition parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), on the Panama Papers truce on Wednesday.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore, Imran expressed that the alliance would solely be for Panama Leaks, and brushed aside any possibility of contesting upcoming general elections jointly.

When asked about his comment in the aftermath of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari’s return and the announcement regarding contesting elections, Imran diverted the question adding “Like every ball is not played during batting, I am leaving this ball.”

An optimistic Imran expressed that he wanted to see whether PPP actually played the role of opposition this time adding that both the parties remained in power between 2008 to 2013.

The legislator said that since the 2013 general elections, only the PTI had been playing the role of true opposition despite having fewer members than the PPP.

The PTI supremo went on to say that the upcoming Chief Justice Saqib Nisar should be given full opportunity to work adding that they wanted him to restore the confidence of people in the judiciary.

“This nation is yearning for justice,” Imran said.

The cricketer-turned-politician said that he was disappointed with the previous bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali because they did not finish the Panamagate case nearing completion.

Mr Khan said his party throws weight behind Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s proposal that the National Accountability Bureau’s chairman should be appointed through the judiciary.

“How can Nawaz Sharif and Opposition Leader Syed, Khurshid Shah appoint the NAB chairman when both of them are facing corruption charges?” he argued.

This is clearly misleading PDF. Where did IK say he is going to be under Zardari's leadership? He said there will be no electoral alliance and the issue will be solely focused on Panama. Mods, please change the title.

It's funny watching the corrupt Patwari Tola somehow try to justify this as if its some sort of alliance under the leadership of Zardari. I know they are very desperate as PML-N's corruption keeps getting exposed everyday but this is a new low misleading the public.

Also, you know what's funny, watching kettle calling pot black. Isn't Nawaz Sharif BFF's with Zardari and Maulana Fazlur Rehman? Same people he used to call corrupt, and he is in bed with them now. Wasn't Nawaz Sharif going to bring back all that money from Swiss accounts? What happened to that?

Really? Can you please pass me the crystal ball that you have so i can get the lottery numbers. If Imran Khan makes a national electoral alliance especially with PPP, that will be the day his politics end. At least for a voter like me, i will never vote for PTI if they make an alliance with all the corrupt tola. Corruption for you might not be that big of a deal, but i can see how corruption is destroying this country from inside out. This is the biggest appeal of Imran Khan that he is not corrupt unlike Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, Fazlur Rehman, Asfandyar etc.

But i cannot help but notice the irony in your post that you fail to look in the mirror. Nawaz Sharif has an alliance with Fazlur Rehman, Zardari, Asfandyar, a traitor such as Achakzai. Same Zardari he was going to put in jail, and after all it was PML-N who gave the famous nickname to Fazlur Rehman of Maulana Diesel. And here you're making empty claims about Imran Khan.
