We have a heat-on kind of moment going on. Sometimes these situations are fuelled by India, sometimes Pakistan. Unfortunately this time, it has been done from the Pakistani side, I believe by some rouge elements inside Pakistani army.
Modi did invite Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif for his swearing-in ceremony and Nawaz Sharif responded very positively. Then the border firings started. There are certain elements inside Pakistan which are not exactly under control of Pakistani govt. It's usually them who stir all thee troubles in recent time. We also have a recent spurt of people with radical views from our side of the border. But these are temporary. It will die down in the coming 5-6 months.

How much time Jinnah had ? Funny thing, if Jinnah's doctor from Bombay had disclosed that Jinnah has been diagnosed with severe form of Tuberculosis and had a few years to live then probably partition would never have happened.

So far as India is concerned, it's a big and diverse country. Only the state of Andhra is as big a France. We had a lot of issues in the past to keep things together and rolling. We continue to face issues from time to time, but doing better than before. I will give you a detailed analysis later sometimes perhaps, if time permits.
