I am also against showoff particularly for religious matters and it is a kind of Shirk.Apparently looking anyone it is not possible to conclude about this as we not know what is in heart,it is matter between ALLAH ALMIGHTY and HIS servant but we can only criticise those matters which are evident and badly affect public and are clearly against Islamic teachings without any doubt

Sometimes if you show your religious expression to a person who is Islamophobe it may trigger him to use blasphemous words against your religion so it is better to hide your religious expressions to avoid this from happening
