Imran Khan strikes again

And what's wrong in what he said?

We did not have consistent policies dealing with Afghanistan and then the interference in the past in affairs of Afghans has caused a lot of bad blood

Stop it guys, what is wrong is wrong.

Its Afghanistan who is back stabbing Pakistan, right from 1947. It all started from Durrand line and is still going on. Afghanistan never really wanted friendship with Pakistan.

Pakistan to blame for ‘bad blood’ with Afghanistan: Imran Khan

http://tribune.com.pk/story/1038256/pakistan-to-blame-for-bad-blood-with-afghanistan-imran-khan/

I am very sad that the relationship is not good and I am also sad to say that Pakistan is to blame. We did not have consistent policies dealing with Afghanistan and then the interference in the past in affairs of Afghans has caused a lot of bad blood,” he said.

================

Not a day goes by where we aren't blessed with pearls of wisdom by Imran Khan. It's truly amazing.
This guy will do everything to criticise any government except his and the army -
Why dont he comes up with his plan on how to deal with afghan or ttp? -
Criticism is just too easy -

Not a day goes by where we aren't blessed with pearls of wisdom by Imran Khan. It's truly amazing.
His wisdom cannot be compared to our governments or it's allies, mainly PPP, or the other so-called mullahs(Referring to al-Maulana Fazlur Rahman, al-Bakitstani). Good laughs here and there from IK, nothing comparable though.
Yes he spoke the truth but as usual he showcases that he is a foolish politician who doesn't know what to reveal and what to not. You don't come out and say that the issues between Pakistan and Afghanistan are the fault of Pakistan ..
The worst part is we agree the case IK is referring to is the truth, yet we have the problem when someone speaks the truth. He is an idiot, no doubt. He is true as far as interfering in Afghanistan is concerned, mainly referring to us playing America's puppets, we should have never intervened. It has cost us over 50,000 deaths. Apparently Pakistan do not like to hear the truth.
Emphasis on:
'“I am very sad that the relationship is not good and I am also sad to say that Pakistan is to blame. We did not have consistent policies dealing with Afghanistan and then the interference in the past in affairs of Afghans has caused a lot of bad blood,” he said.'

but insulting Pakistan like this at an international platform (voice of america) is disgusting, especially as we are facing the full flak of western media for our role in Afghanistan post soviet invasion, whereas western nations who were equally involved in this role (CIA for goodness sake) are completely ignored . The last thing we need is our own "leaders" joining this propaganda bandwagon of the west, whose purpose is to delegitimise Pakistan to such an extent, that it no longer is able to carry out actions which serve its own interests (in essense becoming a scared US lackey like many if not most other countries around the world). Shame on you Khan.
I totally agree with you, couldn't have said it any better. he needs to look to present a better image of Pakistan rather than opening his mouth. He needs to think before speaking. Though i do somewhat agree with him, we have intervened. Harsh truth. (Forget about their role, apney gerey ban mey jhankon pehley).
Can't wait for the day Asad Umer replaces him...
Asad Umer needs to step-up within the party itself, i see Shah Mehmood taking over IK, unfortunately.

I agree, though it does not change the fact that our role of helping the US has indeed caused a lot of blood shed. Should he say these things as a leader? no; but is it the truth? yes. As far as Afghans are concerned they hate us to the core, even more than the Indians, that is Tajik-Afghans.

He was known political puppet, right from the start, and now has met his inevitable end after he outlived his utility. Only fools were taken in by what he promised.
He has failed to live up to the expectations. Though he can't even be compared to his adversaries, we do not have many choices. I don't think PTI can win the next elections.

Only one way to deal with TTP.:guns:
As far as Afghan Taliban is concerned:
Urging Afghanistan’s Taliban to negotiate a peaceful resolution to its conflict with the Kabul government, Khan said, “They (the Taliban) must come to the table and they must resolve this dispute through talks and negotiations. War is never a solution. In fact, war leads to unintended consequences just like in Iraq and Syria,”

On-topic: He need to be careful as to what he says. He needs to think before he speaks, learn a thing or two from our ruling-feudal-elite class. Pathetic to hear this from a 'Leader'.

The expectations were carefully built up and over-hyped for a reason, and now he has been dumped. But you are correct, despite being a failure as a politician, as a person he is probably better than all the others thieves ruling Pakistan currently.

He is just foolish, remind me this story of a monkey who actually did best for his owner but the in result owner dies.
:enjoy:
A king, while visiting his wives' apartments, took a monkey from a neighboring stable for a pet. He kept him constantly close at hand for his amusement, for as it is said, parrots, partridges, doves, rams, monkeys, and such creatures are a king's natural companions.

It goes without saying that the monkey, fed on the various dishes that the king gave him, grew large and was given respect by all who surrounded the king. Indeed, the king, due to his love and exceeding trust of the monkey, even gave him a sword to carry.

In the vicinity of the palace the king had a grove artfully planted with many trees of various sorts. Early in the springtime the king noticed how beautiful the grove was. Its blossoms exuded a magnificent fragrance, while swarms of bees sang praise to the god of love. Thus overcome by love, he entered the grove with his favorite wife. He ordered all his servants to wait for him at the entrance.

After having pleasantly strolling through and observing the grove, he grew tired and said to his monkey, "I want to sleep a little while in this arbor of flowers. Take care that nothing disturbs me!" Having said this, the king fell asleep.

Presently a bee, pursuing the aroma of the flowers, betel, and musk, flew up and lit on his head. Seeing this, the monkey thought angrily, "What is this? Am I to allow this common creature to bite the king before my very eyes?"

With that he proceeded to drive it away. However, in spite of the monkey's defense, the bee approached the king again and again. Finally, blinded by anger, the monkey drew his sword and struck down the bee with a single blow. However, the same blow also split the king's head.

The queen, who was sleeping next to the king jumped up in terror. Seeing the crime, she said, "Oh, oh, you foolish monkey! What have you done to the king who placed such trust in you?"

The monkey explained how it had happened, but thereafter he was shunned and scorned by everyone. Thus it is said, "Do not choose a fool for a friend, for the king was killed by a monkey."

And I say, "It is better to have a clever enemy than a foolish friend."

We are protecting our strategic interests and will continue to do so in the future. Every country in the world does this to some extent.

Imran Khan is a complete idiot for admitting this and publicly stating it to a news agency.

I thought he will finally get mature after dharnas but nope still the same still don't know what to say in front of media and i am really surprised by PTI supporters here just imagine if it was Noora or any other politician damn these ppl are hypocrites of the highest level :disagree:

Agreed. Imran khan no doubt provides comedy but he is not even good enough to shine the shoes of rehman malim, gilani and zardari and qaim ali shah when it comes to comedy ... Its the one and only thing I miss about 2008-2013 era.. The comedy and preposterous rubbish that made you tear your hair out.

There stands a good difference between us on forums and him on media in front of the world. He can't say stuff like that. We have interfered but situation forced our hands... We had a very hostile Afghanistan and with the soviet invasion of Afghanistan brought a very very powerful enemy in our backyard which forced us to interfere. After Russia left, groups started to fight against each other bringing chaos that was starting to spill over here which forced our hands again. The us invasion brought a very serious issue as a madman was running USA and he would have attacked us as well rather then mess up his invasion by going around the central Asia route close to Russia. Saying no to USA was a risk especially with the world peeved at our nuclear bombs. Our hands were very much tied in this interference and yes we could have said no but it could have had disastrous results... The operations were something that one day we would have had to face thanks to our islamization policies and perhaps a war far worse than this one.. No doubt this foolish and irresponsible war on terror has opened a Pandoras box that has engulfed nations...

I support a non intervention policy but Afghanistan has been such a mess and the sympathy of our fata areas and nwfp was a factor as well. The mess we had was no doubt going to spill over. A lot of times situation forced our hands...

Asad Umer needs to step-up within the party itself, i see Shah Mehmood taking over IK, unfortunately.

Pti would struggle without imran khan. He is and always will be the face of the party and the party would struggle to survive without him or his lineage or heir. Asad umar is a great candidate but will the supporters follow him if Imran is not there. I don't think so.

He has failed to live up to the expectations. Though he can't even be compared to his adversaries, we do not have many choices. I don't think PTI can win the next elections.

The expectations he created and his supporters created were unrealistic. They expected messiac magic wand stuff from him but didn't realize his flaws. He may stand amongst the most honest but his foolishness and his policies on various issues creates questions... We don't have many choices but in the future we will. I am hopeful of this Democratic process :p :p . during the elections I often said that this election 2013 is the maker one and every party would fight thick and thin to win it bcz any work done even minimal would look amazing compared to the 2008-2013 govt which saw us nearly ended. N has done good which is appreciable so I am expecting them to win the 2018 and even the 2023 election... Personally I can never forgive N for their friendly rubbish in 2008-2013 Time but hopefully they improve and do good.

He is 65 years old! Dude give this advise to a teenager who need it.

We have intervened in Afghanistan just as Afghanistan has intervened in Pakistan, or India has intervened in Sri Lanka, or Iran has intervened in Afghanistan. This whole region is a hotbed of proxy wars and militias funded by foreign powers (regional and international), and to to single-handedly point out Pakistan as the only player in the region engaged in such activities is firstly intellectual dishonesty, and secondly runs contrary to the interests of Pakistan and serves the purpose of the aforementioned western propaganda machine seeking to de legitimize Pakistan at the international stage. Therefore I think it is very relevant for us to remember their role as well and not point out Pakistan as the sole country at fault here.

Afghanistan started interference..we only replied back..

I see we have the typical Pakistani attitude of blaming everyone except themselves on here. What IK said is basically the truth and also tactful. I'm pretty sure Afghanistan would not be too happy if IK or any Pakistani politician said everything was Afghanistan's fault. There is no need to fuel a fire that is already burning. Of course they are only words but using inflammatory language will only make things worse.

The reality is that Pakistan has always done what the US says and so far has paid a hefty price with the constant attacks, etc. For our corrupt leaders the lives of Pakistanis are a small price to pay in return for the financial aid they receive and subsequently stash in their offshore bank accounts.

Sometimes it is better to recognise some of our own mistakes rather than constantly blame everyone else. Maybe if we had less confrontational approach to our neighbours things could move towards peace.

.
IK has to be controlled. His big mouth will cost Pakistan a lot. IK don't know Pakistani policy for Afghanistan and he is throwing his own incompetency on whole country.

. .
I dont know how long Pakistan and Pakistanis will stay content with "putting the mess under the carpet" approach
IK is not foolish or stupid. He just got balls to speak the truth with no BS approach and no hypocricy.
These are qualities which unfortunately today makes a person look fool, no one around has the courage to do so
The problem is Pakistan needs a general redoing. From system, policies, constitution, perception. Everything needs to be changed. We can't keep on expecting good by continuing evil. A plant from bad seeds can never bore good fruit, its against the nature.
There's nothing wrong in waiting for centuries for it to give good fruit but that aint gonna happen
