Imran Khan’s flawed logic on the war on terror
The figures of civilian casualties, in drones strikes, are also being exaggerated. Most of the tribal people are in favour of drones as most of the casualties are those of terrorists and the collateral damage is insignificant.
The writer is a retired brigadier who has served in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Fata
The brigadier slipped it just here, and the rest of his article is a piece of garbage as usual - justifying the actions of Musharraf/Army while calling the civilian deaths and it's percussions as insignificant collateral damage. The author doesn't even know a jack about the tribal belt where many different groups are operating but he painted them as Taliban.
The author failed to or should've helped the readers if he had quoted a few statements given by Imran Khan on 'The End of War on Terror', that way the readers would've had a comprehensive idea of where IK is flawed, and with his (Brigadier's) insights he should've cleared those flaws with factual analysis. The only thing I see flawed about IK's analysis as stated by the author is with the dates - I don't see any other reason why the author had to call his ideas as flawed.
Imran Khan is very straight in his logic, and he says once we 'stop' being seen as US Ultra-puppets, support for terrorists/radicals/extremists will drop and once that happens it will be far easier to deal with them. Now I don't see why IK is flawed here - anybody with a conscious mind would understand that IK is absolutely spot on. Now, either the author failed to understand his logic or he just called it flawed out of shear envious (of his popularity) and in contrast to that, didn't bother to provide a conclusion/outcome of how to get-out of this mess created by Musharraf.
It amazes me how naive our pseudo intellectuals are and how they see FATA people causing more terrorrism than America in the world - where there were no name of terrorism in Pakistan (linking them to FATA) but as soon as the US lands in Afghanistan and Musharraf becomes the executive just before that - the sky break loos and the patriotic FATA people are termed as terrorists/radicals/extremists and what not - who safeguarded our country for ages, shame on you people calling them all this.
Imran Khan very rightly said in an interview to NDTV, ''These liberal-fascist are the scum of Pakistan''. Musharraf was/is a liberal fascist and just because of his absolute flawed policies, 35000 Pakistani lost their precious lives today - the author failed to mentioned this prime-factor in his whole analysis for obvious reasons. The author failed to termed Musharraf as a criminal and he should've suggested, a criminal should be dealt accordingly.
