Imran Khan residence first to be regularised in Bani Gala encroachment case: SC

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Tuesday stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence will be the first to be regularised in Bani Gala encroachment case.

During the hearing, the bench formed a committee under the chairmanship of the interior secretary to ensure the regularisation of properties in Bani Gala.

According to the details, the committee consists of Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman and secretaries of the ministries of housing, local government and climate change. They will submit the report in 10 days time.

Moreover, the additional attorney general told the bench that the fourth part in the report refers to the contamination in Rawal Lake and sewerage from 50 union councils and 59 housing societies which is dumped there.

While responding to this, Nisar said that we want to see the performance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members as they were the ones who appealed regarding this issue.

The chief justice also asked PM Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan that what steps PTI has taken in the last 50 days?. Awan replied by saying that Interior Minister Shaheryar Afridi is looking over these matter now a days. Then CJ remarked that PM Khan’s house will be the first to be regularised and also should be the first to pay penalty.

People misuse these things in every possible way. Which lead to corruption, illegal property leads to illegals connections for Electricity, gas, water, municipal corporation, auqaaf, and they take bribe from these people. which they happily pay to them and it also decrease motivation to work hard to get something in life. other people also start following these wrong dings.

You are not getting my point, why there are 2 Pakistans, why illegal property of only poor people is bulldozed, why not bani gala illegal constructions met the same fate.?

After all this was PTI's core slogan, One Pakistan for everyone, whether it is judicial, education, health or any other matters, Why govt is not demolishing the illegal constructions in Banigala just like they are doing else where with the poor.

I hope people understand difference between encroaching the state land and constructing buildings over it and constructing building without taking permission (aka Irregular construction) over own land. If government start destroying buildings which fall in later category (i.e. construction without necessary approvals including map of building as per rules) than over 90% of buildings in Pakistan have to be destroyed.

Pakistan Quarters: Stones pelted at vehicle of PTI leader, operation suspended for three months

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Enraged protesters—staging protest against eviction in Karachi’s Pakistan Quarters area—on Wednesday pelted stones at vehicle of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) leader Khurram Sher Zaman.

As per details garnered, Zaman went there to pacify the fumed residents.

On the other hand, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail stated that he had a telephonic conversation with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar. He took to popular micro-blogging website Twitter and stated, “ had a telephonic conversation with the honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, regarding Pakistan Quarter issue. CJ has kindly consented to hold the evacuation process for 3 months, he showed concerns on [loss of] precious human life, I am thankful to CJ for accepting the request.”

Earlier today, police resorted to baton charge on residents who were protesting against expected eviction, as a result of which six protestors were injured. There are unconfirmed reports that a woman has also died.

Police also used water cannon and fired tear gas to disperse the mob.

The protesters, including children, women and men, started pelting stones at the police team and shouted anti government slogans.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar, Kanwer Naveed Jameel and Aamir Khan also joined the protest and demanded the government not to evict Pakistan Quarters that is residence of many people.

Farooq Sattar and other political leaders expressed solidarity with residents of Pakistan Quarters and appealed Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the case.

The protesters claimed that they have the registries of their homes. They said that vote was given for ‘Change’ but we do not need such change in ‘Naya Pakistan’ that deprives citizens of their houses.
