The sad part is that Islamic philosophy is no longer taught. Islam was hijacked from the philosophers by people who only believed in printing operating manuals.
As for the military strategy goes, Islam was keen to adaptations from it's early age. Research shows that muslims adopted a synthesis of Roman and Persian military tactics at the pick of their time. Both Roman and Persians were superpower at that time. It shows how modern and futuraristics they were unlike these modern day idiots.
Equally, if I have to form a truly Islamic Army today, it will be based on the synthesis of NATO, Russian and Chinese tactics and strategies. Islamic philosophy warrants pragmatism and adaptation to survive and flourish. Islamic philosophy is inherently very advanced and dialectical which requires a good knowledge in classical Greek philosophy.
