Western media loves to highlight Pakistan for obvious reasons. Create upheavel and instability. There is bad news for the West. Pakistanis aren't buying Western propaganda. The vast majority of Pakistanis are well informed by now. 20 years of continued treachery in Afghanistan was enough to educate the average Pakistani. The Western powers are desperate and fighting a lost propaganda battle in Pakistan. Pakistan fully belongs in the China camp. Just because Pakistan continues to have limited relations with Western bloc doesn't mean that it will sacrifice on regional interests. Far from it. Such one-sided propaganda will further damage Western credibility in many developing nations.

Respected college I am in complete agreement with you. However my take on this issue is that this is a smoke screen by enemies.
I believe that their intended target is China.
Get the world to hammer the little neighbor next door with all the strength that the west can use against Pakistan without a direct conflict whilst putting pressure on China.
It is well known that whenever Pakistan needs help China is always there.

On Friday night, 27-year-old Asadullah, who sold old shoes on a cart, set himself on fire in the Pakistani city of Karachi.
Ghani, a relative, blamed the state of an economy where rampant inflation is hitting those least able to cope. In comments to local media, he said Asadullah used to get calls from his wife and parents asking him for money, but he could not afford to pay the rent and meet his own expenses and sending money back home was no longer possible.
“We can’t run our homes, that’s why Asadullah committed suicide,” Ghani said. “I know five more people who are fed up with inflation and want to end their lives because of skyrocketing prices. The government should have mercy and decrease the inflation.”
An economic meltdown is putting the Pakistani prime minister, Imran Khan, under immense pressure and bringing the threat of unrest as record inflation – the fourth highest in the world – pushes the price of sugar higher than petrol.
Before coming to power, Khan had vowed to root out corruption and lift people out of poverty as he promised a new and prosperous Pakistan with the creation of 10m jobs. Instead, after a visit to Saudi Arabia last month, he announced $3bn in financial support from Riyadh.
In an address to the nation last week, Khan blamed the opposition for past mistakes and inflation in the international market for the miseries of the people in Pakistan. He also announced a 120bn-rupee relief package providing subsidies on essential food items.
Khurram Hussain, an economic analyst, said it was not enough. “The package is a drop in the ocean and will do little to help the mass of ordinary people. The pressure on Imran Khan will continue to mount because we have seen further price hikes, such as of fuel and sugar, after the announcement of the package.”
He said inflation was imposing a crushing burden on ordinary people because it comes at a time of high unemployment and stagnant wages. Prices of some essential items, such as fuel and electricity, are unprecedentedly high.
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an opposition alliance, has announced a campaign against the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the inflation rates the country is witnessing. A long march against inflation was also announced as a part of the campaign from Lahore to Islamabad.
It says ordinary people of the country will struggle to afford basic necessities if prices do not come down.
Two weeks ago, Mohammed Ghufran, 47, a shopkeeper in Mardan, Pakistan’s north-western province, was arrested after he went to a mosque and prayed for cursing the prime minister. Ghufran said he had seen a fall in the number of customers as prices went up. He talked about inflation to daily wage workers, who told him that they could not afford to buy food for their families.
“I rushed to a mosque and announced to the speakers that we should curse Imran Khan,” he told the Guardian. “The prime minister promised a new (Naya) Pakistan and that it would be a welfare state for ordinary people but he has done the opposite. He is crushing the poor.”
Ghufran said he regretted voting for Khan and “everyone I know who voted for him and believed in him” regretted it, too. “People in my neighbourhood supported my calls against Imran Khan after I was released in two days. We believe Imran khan should resign if he can’t control the prices of essential commodities.”
Three years ago, a sack of sugar (50kg) cost about 3,000 rupees (£13) but now it is more than 7,000 rupees (£30). “As he lied to us, I pray God would ask him,” he said.
A government employee, asking to remain anonymous, told the Guardian that the prices of necessary commodities had increased with little increase in income.
The government has failed to control inflation,” he said. “I could run my kitchen for 60,000 rupees (£261) three years ago and now I can’t do it for 90,000 rupees (£393).”

It’s the results of policies from last 30 years.
IK does not have a magic wand to fix everything... Even if PTI had the majority in NA and senate, it will take at least 10 to 15 years to fix things. Also, Covid impacted the golabal economy, even European countries are seeing the impact on their economy.
IK has Started social welfare programs to help those who are needy and need healthcare support. We need to stay positive and let government continue to work toward improving economy.
There are positive indicators, we are spending money on building dams, construction industry is picking up, travel industry is growing, IT, ecommerce has a bright future in Pakistan, Amazon is here, new online shopping plateforms will be introduced in near future for both buyer and sellers.

IMHO, IK should have sold/privatized Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), PTV and Pakistan Railways, Karachi Circular Railway. This would have saved billons and this money could have been spent on projects which will improve economy.

Imran Khan's government also failed to
Introduce e-government, AI and paperless government. It would have significantly reduce cost of running government, reduce government employees, less employees will have less pension, this will reduce 60% of government overhead.

Let’s hope post COVID-19 IK government make the right decisions to improve the economy.

Now, IK/PTI are on the verge of becoming history aka another PML Q.

Its bigger problem in pakistan as rupee devlaued 70% due to large CAD(..i mean due to IK) that led to higher inflation

My gloirous leader kept the CAD large but atleast he kpet the rupee in control but IK did the opposite he let the rupee drop from 130 to 170 that is 30% drop.

Vs only 60% drop in my leader tenure(80 to 130)

Exactly nawaz sharif my glorious leader never made any promises 50 years ago neither did bhutto did. The only promise he made was he is get rottee kapra makaan to london and fullfilled that.

Pakistanis seriously need a crash course in economics 101. the only way Pakistan can be completely immune to global inflation is if we are producing our own raw materials like oil, gas, steel, seed, fertilizer, etc PLUS having killed all the mafias. so we long as you have import any of these & so as long mafias exist, you just can't be immune to global inflation.

It might not have fully gone the way he promised or you expected. Don't expect miracles in one term. Like a wise man once said, you don't rectify a mess made in 40 odd years in a few years. That rule still applies.

Have mistakes been made? Without a doubt. Were these intentional mistakes? I doubt that. Next elections are on their way. You have a chance to elect Bilawal or Maryam.

It is many things and your theory is also part of it. The truth is that Western powers have been fighting against Pakistan collectively for many decades during their Afghan adventure. That is absolutely no secret by now. They are now focusing more on the economic aspect of things.

It is in Pakistan's best interest to work as best as possible with particularly China to make regional trade a success. We are sluggish, confused and pretending that things will be okay. They won't. Unfortunately, our leaders are confused and unwilling to accept the reality. We want to put our eggs in various baskets, but that is not possible without accepting Western lecturing and interests. The Western powers want to impose India like another Israel in our region. Accept this and reap the little economic benefits. Failure to accept means economic pressure, sanctions, threats etc. Something we are all familiar with.

The alternative is to work with China and expand CPEC into the region. Since the Taliban came to power we have cowered under US pressure not to interact with them. Wrong move. Act swiftly and look at your own interests. Expand CPEC into Afghanistan and CAS. We want regional trade to blossom. As long as your primary source of income remains from Western powers you will always remain handicapped.

Your leader Nawaz Sharif is hiding in London. He looted Pak wealth. Nawaz Sharif wanted to give Kashmir and Pakistan to India on a silver platter.

Having said all of this, Imran Khan and his team are no angels, but they are a thousand times better than PML-N and PPP combined.

If you were expecting Pak economy to recover like Europe and US you need a reality check. Economically Pakistan barely escaped the IC. Remember when PML-N lost the elections to PTI and what the state of the economy was? Now you expect the wages to be similar to Europe and US. Won't happen.

Has PTI done enough. Not nearly enough. I wasn't expecting any miracles from PTI on the economic front. Like I have explained in my previous post. Pakistan always had a confused economic policy and this won't rectify itself anytime soon unless drastic changes are made. We are not working as swiftly as we should to prioritise regional trade. This is 100% on PTI and Imran Khan.

I still believe PTI to be the best alternative as opposed to PML-N and PPP. Other options are bleak. Very bleak.

This government has failed in generating jobs, failed miserably in raising the minimum wages, in fact there are echoes of going after government employees, abolishing the pensions ....... the same old cabinet with same old faces, the elite, mill owners and real estate tycoons have never and will never understand, even if they understand they will never wish for it to happen ........

Abolish the indirect taxation and make the tax laws simple and easy, make tax religious obligation enforced by state on everyone. People should be subsidizing the needy and helpless. There is a large chuck of money that goes into chanda, peeri faqeeri, ijtimah, jalsay juloos, political long marches, rallies and other unproductive activities. If I say a huge chunk I mean enough to pay many years of salaries and wages. Make FBR a chanda collecting institute and you will see the amount collected is more than the tax they collect.

An illiterate liar can become a billionaire by announcing housing schemes but a skilled youth suffers and feels helpless because he cannot make his ends meet ...... and that same illiterate uloo ka patha to make his wealth and income earned by fraud and exploitation, makes it halal by paying chanda, building mosques, doing multiple hajj ........ all the while when people are committing suicide because they are failing to feed their families.
