What PM and others should have been out and doing this by leading from the front is done by Imran Khan:pakistan:

Yeah, and so is Shaukat Khanum the future Namal College right?
Imran Khan isn't the messiah, but he is really, really close to one.

He is human and has his errors, like everyone of us. But he is honest, it is because he is honest that everyone mocks him and he is still considered the underdog. I am very proud to be supporting not just the man, but the ideals of the party, which are long needed in Pakistan.

It's a photo opportunity politically, nothing more.

In times like these, such gestures from leaders are needed and are norm around the world. They help to boost morale and dispel bad impressions.

Remember lady Diana shaking hands with an AIDS patient to dispell impression that AIDS can be transmitted by body contact.

Following attacks on the lady health workers, Police Officers will start administering polio drops in Quetta... Now that is what you call service to your country.

I salute this police officer for his sense of duty.

Absolutely. But these gestures are made by leaders, not mafia dons we have ruling our country. Mr Zardari fleis out to London, Dubai or France rather than visiting flood victims. How many times have you seen the 'leaders' of current political set up in public?

Only health professionals should administer polio drops or any medicine for that matter.

The reason for polio vaccination success in India was huge number of volunteers who would be present at railway stations, bus stations, every corner of road and they will also knock on doors to ask if your child has been vaccinated...these volunteers are common people like you and me.

. .
But when they cannot be afforded security, is it fair for us to expect them to risk their lives for this task?

Yes, because only a medical professional should decide which patient is eligible for polio drops. The risk is when you allow random non-medical volunteers to give out polio drops mischief can occur, for example the polio drops can be tampered with being given out can be watered down medicine, some people may think they have polio but actually don't and still go and take the polio drops. Also health side affects should explained to the patient before giving polio drops. The way the United States got rid of polio was medical doctors and medical professionals administered the polio drops at various location and people would line up and take the drops or injection (injection came first).

This is how modern medicine works (medical professionals administer medicine), I understand Pakistan is a third world country but this doesn't mean Pakistan has to follow the same path as another third world country in having random volunteers give out polio drops because too many bad things can happen.

About this "can they be afforded security" are you telling me you cannot find them army personnel or police personnel to protect the Doctors administering the medicine and the patients who need them at the various sites? Is Pakistan that pathetic of a country? If so I might as well give up hope on it.

You're doing the typical PTI-sheep practise of putting words in people's mouths. Show me where I've said "Shaukat Khanum and the future Namal College are political postures". If you can't, then accept that your assumption is illogical and wrong and don't spouse mounds of un-needed rhetoric.

The difference between SK and NC and this is evident - the first two are there to stay and serve the public non politically; this photo is nothing more than a political photo opportunity - to boost Imran's support and his policies - unless his profession obliges him to regularly administer polio drops.
