Where rule-of-law prevails it applies to the leaders as well as the people. Didn't you read about N.S. and his guests dining on protected species last month? Don't you think N.S. was making a political point here? - that law only applies to the little people, not to him? By getting away with such crimes doesn't he establish himself as a ruler of subjects rather than a leader of the people?

If Zardari and the Sharifs are examples of "mature" Pakistani civilian leaders are these really men Pakistanis want to continue to see at the helm forever and ever? I'm not saying I.K. is perfect. But I think Pakistan needs a lot more Imran Khans in peaceful democratic competition with one another rather than more Sharifs and Bhutto-Zardaris.

ISLAMABAD: Nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan said that Nawaz Sharif was not in favor of nuclear test blast, while the nuclear technology was passed on to other countries on the directive of Benazir Bhutto.

In an exclusive interview to Jang correspondent, Farooq Aqdas, Dr. AQ Khan said that the nuclear technology transfer process was not such that some one could give it to other country by just hiding it in the pocket, as it was guarded by eight hundred persons.

AQ Khan said that then prime minister Benazir Bhutto had called him, gave the name of the two countries to be helped and she had given him a clear directive in this regard.

AQ Khan further said that he was not self-governing instead he was bound to abide by the orders of the PM of the country and that explains he had to do it.

Regarding his state TV confession of the crime during Musharraf era, he said that by doing so the nuclear program could be saved, he was told. AQ Khan said that Chaudry Shujaat was used by Musharraf for getting a confession from him.

Replying to a question, AQ Khan said that he had great expectations from Imran Khan, but he was disappointed after two/four meetings with Imran. “Imran Khan’s political thinking is still immature and those having expectations from him will soon be disappointed”, he added.

Personal integrity doesn't translate into political acumen all the time--and certainly not in case of IK. I am more than happy with PTI minus IK but should the dictator IK becomes the PM of Pakistan then, within two years max, he will have a majority of Pakistanis rise against him in mass protests which would make the current Tamasha look small.

had it been the case that Zardari and co. had joined him, he would have lost his appeal for sure. PTI has already suffered with some odd faces joining it. Nonetheless, he has stood alone so far either by luck or by choice or a mix of both. As long as it stays like this, i dont have any problem.

also you have a theoretical point when you say that there are old faces standing next to him. However, there are a significant number of new faces as well. Moreover, which movement has ever been successful without the old faces joining the movement? Majority movements had old faces joining them at some point. As long as these people commit to the ideology of the party, there is no harm. A more relevant question is: will the leadership be careful enough in letting old people join in only on the ideological basis?

I'd be glad to be proven wrong if Imran Khan led PTI gives stability to Pakistan: 10 Year of no/low corruption stint AND political stability should take Pakistan a long ways. The PMLN and PPP like political parties are like a dying breed under the current leadership. Yet removing the current govt. under a mob's threat is unacceptable to me.
