Multi-ethnic countries(I define as no ethnicity is more than 50% of population) spend too much energy trying to hold themselves together rather than being able to move forward economically.

As examples look at the below countries in order of which is most developed and the largest ethnicity:

1. Taiwan - 95-97%
2. Malaysia - 55%
3. Indonesia - 42%

See the more there is of the largest ethnicity the more the country developed after WW2. There are a few other factors involved but these were less important in my opinion.

Now you may wonder why 90% ethnic Bengali Muslim dominated BD is still so poor but we need to consider that it's independence date was only in 1971 - full 2 decades less than most other countries in the region. Even then it has higher per capita nominal than Pakistan and will surpass India in the next 2-3 years and has by far the fastest growth rate(7-8% sustained).

The world does not understand average Hindu mentality.

They laugh in the face of a declining economy.
They have spent 5000 years living in gutter and they will do it again for another 5000.

The only thing an average Hindu cares about is attacking Muslims.
So long as Muslims in India are given zero quarters and are persecuted to the full extent, Hindus will be happy.

Average Hindu is supper happy right now, so these numbers mean nothing.

Just look how happy Hindus are in India that Muslims are being victimized.

If people voted for their own person well being then Modi would have been out.

The Black Economy is being transformed to white that's why growth has reached a momentary air pocket...Should soon again hit 6.5 to 7 percent growth. The days of 8 percent plus growth would be sporadic from now on ...Yes thelast sixmonths, non-economic issues took a precedence, but the economy dominates the national narrative in India way more than any other South Asian country with the possible exception of recent Bangladesh



Problem of South Asia is lack of culture of excellence and lack of diversification:


India's economy growth engine was always IT services exports
Bangladesh's growth engine was always garment exports

Don't know the growth engine of Pakistan though
