IMF projects 5% growth for Bangladesh in 2021

Love the "low base" remark.

BD GDP per capita nominal is now higher than India, after being at 50% the level in 2007.
No, it's not. Poor Bangladeshi got his hopes high reading newspaper headlines of the time which projected higher per capita income based on the India's -ve growth of ~-15% at that time.
Our economy did not shrink and your economy did not grow as much as you would want to.

India's GDP per capita PPP which the Indians used to latch onto has been revised downwards by around 20% in the last year.

Something about the state of their country and the GDP PPP per capita figure which was on par with obviously wealthier countries like Indonesia never made sense to me over the years. :what:

The base year was changed I believe.

I don't see the use of name calling in every thread. India's extremely high growth rate this year will be due to a low base (7% contraction last year). That obviously will come down next fiscal. Similarly China also will have a very high growth rate of 8.4% because of lower growth last year (2.3%). I don't see the reason of fighting over such silly numbers.

Just for the reference, China's 8.4% growth is on top of $15.4 Billion - which means they are going to add about $1.3 billion to the GDP this fiscal. That's absolutely freaking. That's like 4x total Pakistan GDP.
replace billion with trillion

Thanks.

I think looking at the "fantastic" job that Modi is doing to Indian economy, BD can also surpass India at GDP per capita PPP this decade. Not that this is a real reflection of the common Indian's living standards as too much wealth in India is concentrated in the hands of a few rich billionaires.

Absolutely, their development is highly unequal and non-inclusive development, which does not bode well for the long term. Everyone knows this.

Indians have always done this. Ignore the poor and powerless for the benefit to the rich and powerful.

India is the only country that applies conscious gender discrimination and under Hindutva (as under Nazism and every other fascist philosophy) the lot of Indian women will get worse and worse - relegated to only serving the interest of men and having babies. Women have little income and no power in India.

We got an expert here on India. Lol.

Point out any errors I have made instead of making fun of me.

Have some substance in your posts, instead of useless one-liners.

I know more about Indian economy AND Bangladesh economy than a lot of Indian Dalals and apologists here do.

If you don't want to get down to brass tacks, then stop tagging me and wasting my time.

A week ago, the World Bank had upped Bangladesh's growth forecast to 3.6% from its earlier forecast at only 1.6%. It also forecast that the real GDP growth in Bangladesh can range between 2.6% and 5.6% in FY21.
No, no. What 1.6% or 3.6% growth this Razakar WB is talking about? We will follow the BBS data after the year ends in June this year. Could it be near 9%?

Sorry, I could not understand what you really wanted to say above. Further clarification is needed.
