  • "PTI thought Maryam would not come out because of rising inflation, but I want to tell them that I will with the people," she says.
  • Maryam reiterates Nawaz, PM Shehbaz will take country out of the crisis by working hard.
  • "Fitna Khan tried hard to create a Sri Lanka-like situation in Pakistan," she criticises PTI chairman.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Saturday said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) told the coalition government that it does not trust Pakistan because of the wrongdoings of “fitna” Imran Khan.

Addressing party workers in the PP-167 constituency, Maryam termed the agreement signed with the Fund by the “fitna” Imran Khan as a “bad deal”, adding that the former prime minister took a U-turn by breaching the clauses that Pakistan agreed with the global lender.

At the outset of her speech, Maryam claimed that PML-N supporters from a single constituency present in Green Town are more compared to the number of people attending “fitna” Imran Khan’s “historic rally” on the Parade ground in Islamabad.

Khan and Maryam Nawaz were addressing their supporters in Islamabad and Lahore, simultaneously.

Maryam said that the coalition government had to make some decisions with a heavy heart, including increasing the prices of petroleum products, because of the wrongdoings of the “fitna” Imran Khan.

She further added that if Khan had left something in the reserves, the coalition government would have provided relief to the people.

'PTI thought I will not come out'

“They [PTI] thought that Maryam would not come out to address public gatherings because of rising inflation, but I want to tell them that I stand with the people when times are tough,” she asserted.

Taking a jibe at the former prime minister’s statement regarding him not being elected to know the price of potatoes and tomatoes, the PML-N leader said: “I am not as insensitive as him [Imran Khan] that I would say I am not here to know the price of essentials.”

“I am here to know the prices and to stand by the people,” she said.

'Nawaz. Shehbaz to take people out of crisis'

Speaking on behalf of the coalition government, Maryam said that the incumbent parties have a "responsibility" to take people out of the difficult times even though these problems were not created by them.

She reiterated that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and PM Shehbaz will take the country out of the crisis by working hard.

“We [coalition government-led by PML-N] will try to eliminate all issues created by ‘fitna’ Khan,” she assured the people.

Addressing the people, Maryam said that she has come in front of the people to seek help and support for PML-N. “Fitna Khan tried hard to create a Sri Lanka-like situation in Pakistan; however, his plan did not succeed because the people had faith in the lion (PML-N),” she said.

Maryam explains meaning of 'lota'

The PML-N leader accused the PTI chairman of looting the mandate of the people of Punjab by handing over the charge to his “puppet” Usman Buzdar. “Punjab is a province of over 120 million people and Farah Bibi — a close aide of former first lady Bushra Bibi — was imposed on the province,” she said.

Explaining who a “lota” is, Maryam said that “lota” is a person who leaves the Opposition to join the government, while all the members who have joined the coalition government were those who left the PTI-led government to join the then Opposition.
PMLN failed in 1990s and 2008(coalition govt) 2013-2018
DUE TO IMRAN KHAN

is it because of that?

or is it because Pakistan need another loan every 3 to 4 years
Problem was instability lead to problem in rolling over older loans which would have been pretty easy if there wasnt uncertianty
Especially the chinese loan of 3 b wasnt rolled over and few other loans either

If this filthy convicted criminal proven liar could come to her senses which she will never in her life.
Instead of pointing out lies toward others, she could discuss her own life which started through 'haram khori', she could discuss how she get admission to AMC and then Captain Safdar?
Why is her's criminally convicted, thug, liar, and thief father absconding and hiding?
Now IMF asking for guarantees against looting/robbing mechanism from the criminal bunch in government - as they are well aware of the utilization of loans:

"
The International Monetary Fund has also asked Pakistan to set up an anti-corruption task force to review all the existing laws that were aimed at curbing graft in the government departments, the reports, quoting sources as saying.

After implementing the conditions, the IMF would present Pakistan's request for the approval of the loan tranche and revival of the program to its executive board a process that may consume another month, the Dawn

For the first time in the country's history, not only the export target was achieved but it exceeded the psychological barrier of $30bn. Pakistan’s exports remained below this level for the last decade. Pak exports reached $31.845bn. Good work

thats PTI government performance

How so? 🤔 Your current situation is because of IK. He gave away subsidies at a time when your external debt was mounting to unprecedented levels. It was not sustainable and future generations will have to bear that burden. Your rupee lost half its value in his tenure.
There is truth to this.

PML-N's own corruption aside, Pakistan's economy being in dire straits is something to be pondered over. In my mind, any government which leaves and within 2 months of their leaving power the economy comes to a grinding halt, speaks volumes about what was happening while they were in power. Yes, they had the Covid shock, and then the Oil price shock etc. but despite that, during the last 18 months, Pakistan still had the highest inflation in all of South Asia (barring SL) and all other countries were dealing with the same shocks.

Subsidies are used as a populist mechanism and the PTI government knew that with a massive budget deficit, they would have had to go ask for financing but they were not even on the table with IMF. There were no friends willing to bail out, so a pretty significant responsibility is on the PTI for their less than sub-optimal handling of the economy.

What IK has successfully done is to completely side-step their mishandling of the economy by solely focusing on his constitutional ouster as being illegal, conspiracy of the Americans, establishment etc. and none of his supporters bother to even think about this PTI failure. The economy was no better than when the PPP/PML went through their tenures. Still in shambles, with nothing to write home about.

How would you like it if IK and his wife are called the same names and worse? There are already corruption related accusations piling up against the former first-lady by the other side.

IK himself is guilty of using unparliamentary language when he made the absolutely disgusting comments about Mariam Nawaz's husband becoming jealous etc. Be mindful that you folks are opening the doors for others to start addressing your PTI leadership and even yourselves with derogatory nomenclature.

More and more, this is like "Let's go Brandon" coming to Pakistan!

LOL look at these inept imbeciles. They got power on a silver platter through military and US intervention. Yet from day one these imbeciles have shown zero progress on any front. All they have done is accuse and blame sides. We can expect this blame game to continue because Bajwa's PDM aides have nothing to offer.

This is all due to Bajwa. Bajwa is the one that deserves full blame.

Imran Khan’s government had he survived the NCV would not have resulted in such a fiasco that has been unfolded recently under PDM government.

The subsidies would have been rolled back. The oil and utility prices would have been increased. Loans would have been rolled over. Gas shipments would have been planned in advance.

The economy the PDM inherited was still in a decent shape. What exacerbated the problem was their brain freeze for the first 2 months and most likely their thievery nature that made sure nobody was willing to bail them out. As for China, the power that be ruling Pakistan chose to ‘limit relations with China’ so.

Anyhow the neutrals were conveyed the economy was still shaky. Pretty clear now that was a miscalculation. Let’s not even go there in the interest of not derailing this thread.

My friend, the fact that the economy could not even sustain itself even for 2 months after the PTI government left is something to ponder over. There was no fiscal room for the next government. No breathing room, nothing. We rightfully blame the previous PPP and PML-N governments for running a horrendous shit show with the economy. How was PTI any different? Each of them have a litany of excuses and PTI was no different.

Just suppose that we don't mention any government or political party. Just assume its "government A". When government A leaves, one, as a Pakistani citizen, would expect the economy to be on decent footing. Consider for example the situation in the UK or even Israel with multiple governments being formed in a matter of one year. Despite all that, their economies run!

This is the gauge which should be used to grade the former and incumbent governments' performances. If PTI supporters were fair, they would also realize that Miftah Ismail is not a dunce. He is a smart guy and also not tainted with corruption, but the economy he inherited also has no slack to give, there was no breathing space at all!
