Pakistan Air Force Draws The First Blood


On 10th April 1959 PAF’s F-86F Sabre (Serial# 55-005) of No. 15 Squadron aka “Cobras” flown by Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Younis Shot down Indian Air Force English Electric Canberra of No. 106 Squadron over Rawat. Both IAF pilots ejected & were captured by Pakistan & were later released.

This was the first aerial battle between PAF & IAF & PAF was a clear victor.
