Ring of Fire
As the world's largest archipelago, spread across 17,000 islands, Indonesia sits between the world's most active seismic region — the notorious Pacific Ring of Fire — and the world's second most active region — the Alpide belt.
Being sandwiched between such seismicity has meant Indonesia experiences some of the strongest earthquakes and most powerful volcanic eruptions known on Earth.
Here are some of Indonesian volcanoes.

A question (please forgive me if it is offensive)
What is the difference between Indonesian and Malaysian languages?
Aren't you both from the same ethanic background, religion and sect?
How come Indonesia and Malaysia are two different countries, why not one?

Well actually bahasa Indonesia and Malaysian came from the same root, as we Indonesian describe Indonesian as modern version of Malay.
Old Indonesian people circa1600-1800 used Malay as lingua franca and some part in Indonesia like Riau and some Kalimantan are still using Malay as a daily language beside Indonesian as official language, just simply because they are ethnic Melayu/Malay.
Indonesia and Malaysia share a lot of tradition and heritage similarity including the language but Indonesia is much more diverse in term of tribe since original Malaysia mostly Malay ethnicity (not to mention Chinese and Tamil).
The separation as simple as we back to 1900s when Malaysia was in British control and Indonesia was under Dutch and we both got separated since.

So any movement for merger or common market etc.

Well our founding father Soekarno once had his interest to unite both country, but it's not happened because in reality it is impossible since we are completely be a different nation.
And since we both 'hate' each other
As for common market we already do it in Asean with other Asean members and it's not only in economy but also in other sectors.
