A terrorist attack on Istanbul’s main international airport that left over 40 people on Tuesday has already vanished from headlines and front pages, adding to the argument that countries like Pakistan and Turkey are not given enough media coverage in the international arena.
An image shared by a fan account of the world’s most famous graffiti artist, the elusive Banksy, went viral following the attack in Istanbul.
World abandoned Pakistan to face terrorists alone: Bajwa
The image shows two people from Pakistan and Turkey consoling each other while standing next to tattered flags of their countries with blood on the floor. On the other hand, media personnel can be seen around Belgian and French flags covering terrorist attacks that occurred in those countries.

Note how the Belgian and French flags are in perfect condition, on well-built flagpoles but flying at half-mast. While the Pakistani and Turkish flags are tattered, on broken wooden poles but yet flying high.

Infact Turkish attack was well publicised in the west. However Pakistan attacks are not. Its expected of their media to have double standards.

Its the way system works. There is no any significance of poor countries in world.
Every one talk/follow and give respect to powerful countries.
Turkey though got quite coverage in media as she is next to Europe. However main stream world media did give 0.1 % coverage to any carnage in Pak compare to to developed world.

Its same applicable on Pak media, There r daily bomb explodes in Iraq as its consequences dozens got killed , but main stream Pak media did not give any importance to Iraq/Yemen tragedies.

A digital divide is an economic and social inequality with regard to access to, use of, or impact of information and communication technologies (ICT)

Even majority of Pak members of this forum have had made 100s of thread on "Orlando terror attacker Omar Mateen ruined the gay bar" on this forum. But no body bother to talk or paste few threads about Iraq bomb explosion in which dozens got killed.

Good observation..

It is a sad fact that western media has a racist and Islamophobic attitude and of course the discriminate, tell lies and fabricate stories. A bigger tragedy is that we just keep lamenting, nagging and ranting about it again and again but we do not take any practical steps i.e. creating own media with international quality and broadcasting in multiple international languages... Only the reputable channel broadcasting in English from a Muslim country is Press TV of Iran (I don't count the CNN's baby Aljazeera as ours)...please add to my knowledge if you know some...I ask a question, as I came to know through pdf that Pakistan has approximately 150 private + state channels, how many of those are English news channels with international standard newscasting?.

Well atleast the artist was more than right to depict that both Pakistan and Turkey stood by each other and shared each others pain even if their flags were in tatters, while in case of France and Belgium there were more like cosmetic ceremonies.

Our attacks get decent coverage in American media for the first day or two.

yet both pak and turkey leave no stone unturned in pleasing their masters and obey them fully. it's not the fault of the western media it's our own fault which has made us worthless.

Well, attack on Turkey has got enough media attention to be fair while It is true that Pakistan does not get significant media attention for every attack, maybe due to the number of attacks on Pakistani soil it does not look very unexpected thing (For eg. Mass shootings in US are looking like a norm now).

Media now days is the most powerful weapon if lets say westren media started showing ttp actions against Pakistan the people of america and west would have totally different perspective of us . West has to realize that victim of these terrorist organization which on some level they support or finance is the Muslim world. We really dont give a damn if we are shown on media or not but people should be aware of the sacrifices made by us

Most media cannot focus on something that can humanize to the audiences. Most have their hidden agenda to ensure it is carried on. Attack on Istanbul Airport and Jinnah Airport including the school in Peshawar are humanizing story which goes against their agendas. Unfortunately, those Muslims nations were already declared non human being long ago and they indeed to keep it that way. Good thing Internet was born at the right time for neutral information.

I think the OP is pointing to the fact that how quickly the Turkish attacks have disappeared from the front pages and headlines. However as you said, they are "expected" to do so and perhaps it is us ourselves who will have to do something to change that perception. Cannot just keep blaming others while we sit and do nothing about it. Once we do put in efforts to build our own image and change the public views about us then we can also criticize and even challenge there media to change that attitude.

Turkish attacks were covered Non stop for two days

Then yesterday you had Bangladesh attacks which is still going on in CNN

Pakistani attacks are ignored unless they are BIG because of "saturation factor"

Even KASHMIR attacks on Indian security forces are ignored by CNN / BBC
