I have also read the Interview published in the Sunday Times of Feb 5, 2018 by the journalist Ben Judah. My impressions are:
Imran Khan has metamorphosed into an extreme right wing politician. He is still Taliban Khan and despite the APS school massacre, very much believes that WOT is not our war; thus against using force to tackle Taliban fitna. Probably he does think Taliban are doing anything wrong!
Imran Khan is also an egocentric megalomaniac. Perhaps because he was still at Oxford, he did not see the crowds at ZA Bhutto rallies, but how can he forget the political rallies of 1986 when Benazir returned to Pakistan in 1986. I vividly remember the crowds and these were larger than anything Imran has thus far mustered.
His declaration “Liberals are thirsty for blood. They have no idea. Whatever happens I ‘ll win.” is extremely inappropriate. If the outcome is already known, why have elections at all?
This statement also indicates a self-righteous streak and the belief that everyone else is wrong; a dangerous feudal dictatorial tendency.
In my opinion, having Imran Khan as Prime minster would probably be the worst thing that happened to Pakistan since the bigot Zia took power in a military coup.
