Yeah, when a crumbling river bank finally collapses in high flood, the ignorant blame the guy who just happens to be standing on the edge for falling in, while the wise see all those who never maintained the banks but pocketed the repair funds, and then never passed along the warnings of the well-known coming flood that had undermined the banks for the several decades prior.
