What's new

If Pakistan were to Vanish tomorrow how would it be ranked among the muslim empires of this region and middle east?

Defeated multiple states in Afghanistan U.S, India, Afghan Republic, NATO,, same against the USSR in the 80s

India is a 1.4 billion overpopulated slum, it's about 7 times bigger than Pakistan and Pakistan has harassed, hit and hunted India for 7 decade's. our last military encounter with India ended in India losing a jet and shooting down its own helicopter in panic

We should admire what Pakistan has achieved but hang our heads in shame that we have not been able to capitalise

A couple of changes and we could hammer our enemies

Pakistan is strategically placed, we have a large population, we can be so much better
Even with so much corruption, mismanagement, surrounded by hostile enemies, we are still standing and achieved alot on Military front.

We just need to sort out our social and economical problems, then no one can stop us, I am damn well sure of that.

This post has brought tears in my eyes and they are not stopping.

For that, the disputes must be resolved first. Both India and Pakistan will benefit with peace. But considering the Hindutva ideology that is skyrocketing in Indian society, it seems difficult to do so.

Hindutva is for Indians only. Are you Indian?

A nice story....

Well, Pakistan was in a much better situation before 1979... but they done a series of blunders...

The younger generation forsook the sacrifices of their ancestors, and let their country fall.

This one sentence breaks my heart.

If we are about to vanish, make sure to vanish India too.

With or without Pakistan, Muslim caravan will go on.

Without India, no more Hindu caravan.

The hate ideology has it's side effects, the hate spreads outwards. That's why hate related incidents are increasing even in foreign lands like fkr example recently in Liecester.

And thank god I am not an Indian.

An empire who since it's birth was surrounded by hostile states. Afghans were hostile since the start, Indians were too. We fought gallantly. The main problem destroying our country is corruption which is deeply ingrained in all levels of society.
Yeah, even though we are surrounded by many enemies, our biggest enemy is still ourself by far.

Put strict meritocracy into place, clamp down on institutional corruption and nepotism, identity all internal security risks and actors, then work to fix it.

We have to be strong internally otherwise a powerful army is useless.

We need a Stalin type figure - someone whose ego is so powerful and he does not want his country to be at the bottom. The problem with the sub continent is we sell out too easily. It was impossible to turn the english against each other but they were able to turn royal families against themselves. Ego makes progress, all these gulf monarchies are at the top because of enromous egos. Otherwise they too would sell everything and settle abroad and their oil rich nations being like Venezuela. Military dictatorships never progress. Civil authoritarian rule does, not even Democracy. One only needs to look at Russia and China - Putin and Xi/party

Im talking about gunpower empires, ottomans, Delhi Sultanate. We study these empires. Im wondering if future generations will study Pakistan in the same way.
Corruption, feudalism, bureaucracy, and interference in democracy by the establishment. And no longterm planning.

The UK issue was Indian on Indian. Pakistanis inserted themselves as they are often wont to doing as self appointed guardians of muslims around the world. Maybe if Pakistanis spent more effort on themselves such threads would become rarer. I've never heard Indians discussing what ifs of India suddenly disappearing one day. Soch badlo. Desh badlega.

Bangladesh didn't have a choice.

Why do you say that. Bangladesh was left to chart its own path. That path could well have mirrored yours. Instead they chose to coexist with an overwhelming superior military power next door peacefully. Now look at them. And compare yourselves. You could have been a Canada to our US. Instead you chose to be Ukraine to our Russia. Bangladesh similar to Mexico.
