I am not sure if we really need an ICBM. As far as I know our doctrine encircles around India only and 2750KM is the exact range we needee to cover all of India.

We do not have enemies except India so developing anything above that range is meaningless and waste of money

Sir, theoretically this technology can be put on an SSBN or on a ship of appropriate size. With range comes second strike capability. We have every reason to be concerned.

A Pakistani ICBM is a threat to USA's allies and not India. US already refuses MTCR membership because of its missile proliferation, after which China levied self imposed ban in 2005 on exporting missile technology.

Offcourse Chinese chances of getting into MTCR will become Nil, further more, Americans might supply sophisticated arms to China's enemies, like Vietnam, might encourage India do the same.

Indian objective in Missile development is to be able hit every part of China from any part of India with MIRV warheads and off course a submarine launched ICBM.

You do realize that a Misdile Technology Control Regime works only if all missile producing nations adhere to it? China and Pakistan are being incentivized to start their own group and start arming the Gulf countries, African countries, South American countries, North Korea etc.

This post / article doesn't make sense. There are posts with images on the internet for the past like 10 years and they show the radius of the Pakistani missiles. Didn't they already have the entire India covered? What use would it give the Pakistanis if they can go beyond India? They don't have an enemy outside of India.....

Now if the Chinese all of a sudden decided to give Pakistan TOT for long range SAMS and like 100 jets with the likes of J-10's or J-11's, that would cause some serious problems for India in terms of perceiving Pakistan as a threat.

China is 20 years too late with the threat,now that they have already helped Pakistan, they just have to wait and watch the Vietnam missile and nuclear tech growing.

I am trying to understand the logic here....so you think the Chinese won't do something silly with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, etc? Remember, everyone wants power, no matter how "tight" they might look to you or others.

China should make sure that Pakistan have effective means to counter Indian current and future air defence & ABM capabilities, that will make things very difficult for Indian military planners.

Your correct about developing SSBN, also a nations best detterent is SSBN/SLBM.... JL-2 can only carry 3-4 warheads and as these years go by missile defence will also get much better, so Ideally we need something better than JL-2 if possible... And to counter Indias ABM you would need 6-10 MIRVed Missiles.

Spot on, also Pakistan should try to get it's Hans on HGV tech and SSBN with Advance JL-2 SLBM tech. China can make sure that Indian air defense and ABM can be effectively breached by Pakistani weapon systems.

But by that time India may have 3-6 SSBNs, so we need nuclear powered submarines hosting 16 Thermonuclear high yeilding ICBMS...
