If India hadn't given us shelter, we would have drowned in the Bay of Bengal - says Bangladesh minister

How is this related to my comment or the thread? Some are ignorant of basic etiquette of debate, only thing they know is whataboutery. what a deluded bunch.

Can I have less of the typical Indian self entitled arrogance, it's sickening.

You posted a picture, so did I, what debate or argument did you present, none. So stop acting the fool and apply the same rules to yourself as you are demanding from others.

This thread is about a statement from minister, your picture is about an advertisement in a newspaper with a photo, I showed you similar photos that exist now, in India. there is a direct correlation, if you use your brain, but all you lot want is trumpeters to sound beat anything you claim as the only truth, nothing but the truth.

My reply was based on the same level of involvement that you displayed. It was fair and proper.

Can you translate this Hindlish into English?
Sorry my mother tongue is not English. its Benglish. I can't even read Hindi.

Wars are won over dead bodies and the count doesn't matter for the winners. Does it make sense.

It does makes sense now.

How do you feel as a Bengali divided amongst yourself? They eat Hilsa both sides of the artificial border drawn by human conflict.

Bangladesh
And this poster is good at this. As he knows forum authority will not take any permanent action other than just sending him to short vacation!

I thought he was prema banned for to much cuk suking and other Bangladeshis complained but his apparently not. The mods are very lax if they only gave him tempa ban and i don't think his even from BD

Hilsa is next to religion in BD, which is not in West Bengal. Its very popular among the persons who migrated from BD. Ok, among the original residents like me.
Its better to get Bengal divided among two different countries. Bengal has seen some bloodiest religious riots ever recorded in the history. Direct action day in Kolkata has death count of over 10K in a single day and that's official.
If it was not divided among religious lines a continuous civil war would have turned the region into another Somalia.

'If India had not given us shelter, we would have drowned in the Bay of Bengal'. - LGRD Minister

Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Tajul Islam says, friendship and friends can be changed. But the neighborhood can never be changed. India is our neighbor. In the war of independence of 1971, there was Bay of Bengal on one side and India on the other. If India had not given shelter to one crore people, we would have had no choice but to drown in the Bay of Bengal.

The Indian government gave the country an opportunity to become independent by providing shelter and aid in the war. So India will be our lifelong neighbor, that's for sure.

After unveiling the inaugural nameplate of the newly constructed ‘Faridul Haq Khan Dulal Auditorium’ at a cost of Tk 7.5 crore in Jamalpur's Islampur Upazila on Saturday afternoon, Local Government Minister Md. Tajul Islam said these things. The Upazila Parishad organized the event.

The local government minister said that during the rule of Bangabandhu, after the Indira agreement with India, various organizations of the country claimed that Bangladesh had been sold. But after the implementation of the agreement, it was seen that Bangladesh has benefited. As long as Bangladesh is in the hands of Awami League and Bangabandhu Kanya, Bangladesh will be developed.

He further said that 21 years after independence, the anti-independence clique came to power and destroyed the country. The Awami League under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina came to power and restructured the country. From a middle income country, Bangladesh is now going to become a developed country. When the Awami League is out of power, 64 districts of the country are bombed simultaneously. In the last 13 years, Sheikh Hasina has set a record in the power sector, industry and food production of the country. No one will be able to stop the progress of this development if everyone from the Awami League and the administration is united against the anti-independence forces.

Deputy Commissioner Mursheda Zaman presided over the inaugural ceremony, the special guest spoke. Faridul Haque Khan MP, reserved seat MP Hosne Ara, Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Helaluddin Ahmed, District Awami League President Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah, General Secretary and District Council Chairman Faruk Ahmed Chowdhury, District Council Chief Executive Officer Khandaker Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud, Islampur Upazila Parishad Chairman Jamal Abdun Naser Babul, Municipal Mayor Abdul Quader Sheikh, Bir Muktijoddha Manikul Islam Manik and others.

Earlier, the Minister of Local Government. Tajul Islam inspected the proposed project area for construction of road and construction of two bridges from Guthail Seaport-Sirajabad-Bakshiganj Kamalpur Land Port of the upazila. State Minister for Religion at the time. Faridul Haque Khan, Helaluddin Ahmed, Senior Secretary, Department of Local Government, Sheikh Mohammad Mohsin, Chief Engineer, LGED, Md. Chief Engineer, Department of Public Health Engineering. Saifur Rahman was with him.

Both countries deserve each other as a friend and the neighbour. Thanks Allah one country is over 1000 miles away from us. Can by law of the nature a gulf can be created and India is pushed away from us by even 500 miles am all for it.

And without our Mukti Bahini helping those coward IA troops, PA troops would have won the 1971 war. India should not forget it that only 1300 deaths of IA troops could not give them a win in a riverine country that they are not accustomed to.

But why this Indian is posting something that is irrelevant? India should be ever grateful to BD people for awarding India a win at the cost of only 1,300 lives of the IA troops.

Rather, it is India that should kowtow our Muktis.

Yes. India is very grateful to Mukti Bahini for bravely fighting on the eastern front.

India was losing on the Western front with Pakistan.

It was the Eastern front which saved the day for India.

We deeply thank our Bangladeshi brothers and sisters for their timely help.

similar to what pakistan does for china on a daily basis.
PS: mukti bahini did all the work, pakistan had a bloody nose......and india doesnt get credit.
see, india did nothing. we are innocent.
Not really, not even close
Cause A- china gets genuine respect from vast majority of Pakistani public, infact some of the highest levels of it in the world by pew research survey's
Same with Chinese public and Thier attitude towards pak people
So even if ministers say something positive it reflects the feelings of Pakistani people and if our side say something good in return Chinese officials also say similar things about Pak and it's people (or even public at large but in this respect it doesn't matter)
It's mutually cherished relationship and it doesn't reflect Bangladeshi, India relationship
Whose public don't like each other but forget that
Even government officials called them termites and insects

No Chinese official would ever think of calling pakistanis termites
So it's not the same thing not even close

Besides if we choose to go nuetral with China at this instant
Outside of defense procurement, not much would change, our trade is more with west than east, our external debt with China is less than 20-15%
Dependence on China is highly exaddurated by foes and some Pakistanis too, infact just like rest of the world we are more dependent on west than east
Relationship with China is to balance that western tilt with east and get some sort of strategic autonomy

It was divided along religious lines in 47 not in 71 where the divide was linguistic/ethnic.

Thanks or no thanks, India won the war with only 1300 killed by the PA troops. It was Mukti Bahina who were pushed ahead to fight the PA troops and IA troops supported them by firing big guns from behind.

This is why only 1,300 IA troops were killed in the 1971 war. India should thank us and our Mukti Bahini troops for giving India a big win.
