We were told about Iraqi IEDs before we landed in Kuwait City, that fanatical Iraqi soldiers who were assigned to stay behind would conduct guerrilla warfare using this tactic. Back then we had very little experience with IEDs, we did not even call them with those initials, just the politically incorrect 'booby traps'. We ran into a few unexploded ordnances, but that was about it.

Anyway...The cowards on this forum who cheers for the IEDs do not care for that figure. They are 'keyboard warriors' in the worst context of the slur. They are safe wherever they are and they never will do anything more dangerous than running a safety razor across their faces. If 100 Afghan/Iraqi civilians must be killed in order to get just one US/ISAF trooper, that is an equation they are willing to live with, in safety, of course.

Talked to a Swedish Specialist about the problem with IED. The foremost of them is the people who planted it.

They have little or no explosive handling experience, hence they actually cannot makes bombs. Most coalition casualty we suffer is from people who try to defuse those IED. And almost all the victim is local Afghani.

IED is not as scary as it sound, when it first came out we don't even know what was that. But as time goes by, we count a day "blessed" if we see less than 5 devices in 1 day, I think the most I got to is 20 IED we found in 1 day, and the number did not counted some prematurely exploded before we are even in range.

But now, my buddy tell me they move IED from on the side of a MSR to closer to smaller and more homey road, which literally ,mean they are to target the civilian. And they don't really care if they got us or got the children playing next door.

Great news. Usually those Western occupiers don't die easily because they are well equipped. Three deaths usually means at least two times more are seriously injured. I have yet to hear more about the 11 soldiers pretending to be civilians who were captured by the Taliban.

Hopefully Afghans can take out more of these American trash and free their country.
