The first thing the students of Fata would want is to have places that make students. Build proper schools that teach how to use laptops first.

The schools as we know, are now either housing IDPs or being used as army camps........

So for that reason laptops are the next best thing? Maybe "saving" that money to .. lets see ... build more schools when this is over? How about not giving them electronics till actual use of those can be gauged. This seems like a very emotional response to a very real problem.

Well its been 10 years and this hasn't been over yet with FATA being consistently pushed back to stone age. And using computer is not a rocket science...Yes of course, if you people suggest not giving them, of course I don't mind. But mind you that these laptops are being donated by Government of Punjab and is aside from the fund of 500 Million PKR initially established for IDPs.

Government of Punjab is part of Pakistan and we need to highlight any idiotic decisions made. Food, Shelter, water first. Then comes hygiene, medical needs and education. Laptops do not come under emergency education requirements even in Punjab which has an appalling % of literate people. Not just Punjab, whole of Pakistan. Raise the basic education, then bring laptops. We do not need a few IDP's making corel draw presentations at the moment.

Yep then we also need to withdraw fee exemptions to FATA students. Like I said before, these Laptops will be given at the cost of students in Punjab and if people have issues with this, then there is no need for taking extra steps. Why should one be more loyal to the King than the King himself.

The idea of providing free laptops to the IDP is a poor idea.It is like putting the cart before the horse. Yes I agree with u,the IDP should be provided basic facilties first,followed by lap tops. I saw the photographs of IDP travellings in trucks,vans towards refugee camp,felt very sad.

This is my personal opinion.

It will allow these people greater exposure to the outside world and help them communicate with loved ones working in cities elsewhere.. even those toiling in the middle east.

My question is still valid, even if those laptops are to be distributed to IDP students. Do those kids have schools available to them in IDP camps, what about electricity etc? Those kids are starving and struggling for their lives in IDP camps in this hot weather, and you want to give them laptop? What steps federal govt has taken to insure those IDP students won't quit their studies and schools, books, transportation, fees etc are available to them?

Punjab since independence was better then rest of province .. no matter who was ruling it .. Punjab was better then rest of provinces in when it was under PMLQ, PPP, PMLN, Army ... punjab was even better then rest of provinces in pakistan b4 nawaz sharif was born .. but i knw as a patwari u must think that SS used time machine and went in 1947 and distributed laptops that is why punjab was more literate

According to sources, officials of the Higher Education Department are deliberating over the proposal, which will soon be submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for approval.

I Hope that clarify the situation of chotta ganja. Before shouting do read what is the story? You need to go and bash HED who is making this proposal.
