as for NWFP, the Pashto people as a whole took the division as division of a race and the same was rejected by Grand Jirga of Afghanistan post the referrencdum.

The 'Grand Jirga' was Afghanistan sponsored. People don't just do a 180 on their views towards nationhood in the matter of one year or so - the decision in favor of Pakistan in the referendum was overwhelming.

And that Afghanistan was never able to succeed in its attempts to ignite separatism in FATA and NWFP is testament to the fact that the Loya Jirga of 1949 was not representative of the sentiments of the overwhelming majority of Pashtun in Pakistan.

well he opposed the partition of india as it was pre-1947 ...... so it does tend to stress that he wanted to keep India as a united entity ......
