the 2007 PLA uniform looks very like ROC army. i guess the CCP want to make us look more like westerners than soviets.

How does a colonel get to walk along side of the Chinese pres and US vice-pres.

He can probably single handedly take out all the guys to his right. That's probably why he gets to be with President hu and walk alongside him and the US vice.

I have to disagree. Nothing wrong in improving image. The above uniform will just remind people of the communist block.

Plus the new uniform really does look better.

I would like the PLA to have a bit more flair please.

Since both commie & western-style dress uniforms are imported designs, there really is no point to choose one over the other based on other than aesthetics. In that regard, old ROC WWII uniforms beat them hands down.

US pattern dress unifroms make the wearer looks 10 years older. It looks like really, really old-fashioned suits that no one born after 1900 would ever buy it.
