So are US special forces albeit American pickups. Also Pakistanis won the war against its terrorist while rest of the world, including the Americans, is still struggling - and we had the worst problem. And PA is still using Hilux Pickups in direct combat

They have their merits that but lack of protection is a big issue.

Its more of a massive disappointment than laying emphasis on common knowledge.I thought it's a common knowledge in 99 percent of transport by FC or PA in Balochistan is open pickups.
Even if all these reasons are held viable; the tactics, strategy and deployment should be such as to avoid losses of troops and vehicles. Factors such as timing of convoy movement, recon of the area to be traveled by a civilian vehicle moving 2-5 km ahead of the convoy looking out for potential dangers such as suspected IED traps along the road and expected ambush locations, a thorough well laid out plan what to do in case any of the vehicle comes under fire, deployment of soldiers after of an ambush or IED attack, the use of medics, muzzle directions of HMG's on vehs covering 360", use of sensors, dogs and other technology, camouflaging and addition of make-shift armor on vehicles, constant use of sniper, sniper scopes and binoculars to scan the area ahead and around, looking for out of ordinary human movement around convoy route and stopping the convoy movement if anything ahead seems suspicious, safety first.Partly due to dirt roads, Partly due to funding issues, Partly due to apathetic attitude of the commanders not to provide MRAP.
They have better cameraWhat about these soldiers in balochistan who are getting ambushed on regular basis ?

FC should forgot about winning hearts and minds of these mountain monkeys and plant IED on the tracks used by them. So that they get a taste of their own medicine. What about these soldiers in balochistan who are getting ambushed on regular basis ?

One more thing seen in video about taking cover behind vehicle; the engine bay is the best bet. Not the rear or the boot/trunk/diggi. The video shows soldiers deployed correctly taking cover behind the hiluxes which is correct use of tactics of taking cover. The soldiers at the rear of the vehicle are lying down on ground, giving lower target size to the enemy while knowing that rear side cannot block bullets, the ones behind engine bay are kneeling.

I dont think you are to be taken seriously anymore, please keep dwelling in your arrogance for all i care.Have you ever been on the receiving end bullets fired in anger in a combat zone. If not you don't know $hit.

if no MRAP atleast mild protection vechiles against distant rifle fire should be made available..instead of opne pick ups..they dont even cost much more than pickupsWhat about these soldiers in balochistan who are getting ambushed on regular basis ?
