Nigerian Air Force chief visits PAF

Pakistan, Nigeria discuss cooperation in defence

.
the JF-17 is a best economical and free of condition choice in presence of European, Scandinavian, Russian and American options.

.
Nigerian economy is $566 billion not $1.56 trillion. Get your facts straight before making an *** out of yourself again
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Size of the economy matter when buying proper fighters i.e. Russian Su's and Western MRCA's not rejected chinese junk.
I got those stats from wikipedia (accept I was wrong).. Still the largest economy in Africa ..

Was for your pathetic and retarded onliners .. Why don't you go and get a life ...? You dim idiot... Post reported ..

You don't need a 500 billion economy to buy FC-1.

Pakistan itself is proof of that.

And Pakistan has a small and shrinking tax base. In full scale civil war. Military mutinies etc etc.

If such a country can find the resource to operate FC-1 surely a crazed failed dictatorship like Zimbabwe can but even they after supposed evaluation rejected it.

Nigeria will surely keep that in mind while selected FC-1.

Additionally if you compare Air Forces of Zimbabwe and Nigeria it won't take a genius to see that Zimbabwe has double-triple the fighters as Nigeria.

And the shithead lil indi troll got shipped to assbanistan.

If this deal does go through then it would be a big boost to future sales.
Nigeria has been monitoring the JF-17 for a long time. Nigeria is an oil producing country and Pakistan is 00 fuel dependent so a barter deal can also be possible this will reduce foreign reserves that are sent out of Pakistan to pay for fuel.

nope they cannot, pakistan is still a large country with alot of resources for example the country is 24 in GDP. though it has very very poor per capita thus very poor like india.
still india can afford 100 billion $ weapons why? because of the share size

so per capita doesnt matter much its the total size. i am surpirsed you are comparing the world 6th populus country with a minnow country

on matter of Zimbabwe it was obviously economic reasons(no wonder they are issuing million dollars currencies unlike pakistan), when it comes nigeria the recent drop in oil rices may pressure it out too

lastly we are not in civil war, if that is your definition of civil war than india and definitely nigeria are no different

Excellent NEWS... This will further boost Pak defense industry

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is close to finalising an order for the purchase of one or two squadrons of the JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft co-produced by Pakistan and China, a senior Pakistani Ministry of Defence official told IHS Jane's on 2 December.

Speaking at the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2014 in Karachi, the official said the NAF finalised its recommendation for the purchase of 25-40 JF-17s after NAF chief air marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu visited Pakistan in October. AM Amosu's engagements in Pakistan included a visit to the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at Kamra, north of Islamabad, where the JF-17 is manufactured.

These things take time look at the Raphael and Indians

Truth be told JF17 block 1 wasn't in a position to be sold, block 2 is the basic fighter that could actually sell around the world and block 3 is even more attractive block2/3 will actually have the weapons package to make a difference whilst block 1 was more about making a flying plane

This is why Pakistan first action will be to upgrade our 50 or so blovk 1s and turn them into block 2s a task which is currently under way

So before we get sny additional planes our existing planes will be upgraded

This is when prospective buyers will see and place orders for the plane

If we manage to secure a sale before then its great but personally I feel all buyers will wait till block 2 is up and running and in terms of time this is nothing

London- The JF-17 thunder fighter aircraft, which has been the main attraction of visitors and potential buyers alike at the recently-concluded four-day defense exhibition, IDEAS 20114. It has attracted many buyers including Nigeria, as the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is close to finalizing an order for the purchase of one or two squadrons of the JF-17 Thunder, British defence magazine reported on Friday.

IHS Jane’s Defense Weekly quoted Pakistan officials that the NAF finalized its recommendation for the purchase of 25-40 JF-17s after NAF chief air marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu, visited Pakistan in October. Amosu’s engagements in Pakistan included a visit to the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at Kamra, north of Islamabad, where the JF-17 is manufactured.

The fighter aircraft has been co-produced by Pakistan and China. The Weekly said that so far, the PAC had produced 50 Block 1 JF-17s and began work on another 50 Block 2 variants in late 2013. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officials told IHS Jane’s that a Block 3 variant is being planned.

It quoted the PAF officials as describing the JF-17 Block 3 as a fourth-generation-plus fighter, a term that is used to describe Western aircraft such as Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 60s, the Saab Gripen, Euro fighter Typhoon, and Dassault Rafale, among others.

The Weekly said that western officials had previously said that a first successful export of the JF-17 holds the key for the program’s long-term sustainment. Potential export customers mentioned as likely candidates for the JF-17 have included Egypt, Nigeria, Myanmar, and Venezuela.
