Pakistan should try and supply the rest of Africa as well...most air forces are in dire need of upgrades and Pakistan can offer excellent hardware at competitive prices. Has Pakistan tried to acquire the Roovalk helicopter from South Africa ? I am sure a deal could be worked out involving Pakistan producing the Rooivalks in exchange for some JF 17s.

As far as for the production numbers NAF will going to pay in advance which would be utilized to manufacture 25-50 JF-17-II for them.
I think let alone PAC should be bringing Air Force personals from Asia, Africa and South America to look towards the products made in Pakistan.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is close to finalising an order for the purchase of one or two squadrons of the JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft co-produced by Pakistan and China, a senior Pakistani Ministry of Defence official told IHS Jane's on 2 December.
Speaking at the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2014 in Karachi, the official said the NAF finalised its recommendation for the purchase of 25-40 JF-17s after NAF chief air marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu visited Pakistan in October. AM Amosu's engagements in Pakistan included a visit to the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) at Kamra, north of Islamabad, where the JF-17 is manufactured.
So far, the PAC has produced 50 Block 1 JF-17s and began work on another 50 Block 2 variants in late 2013. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officials have told IHS Jane's that a Block 3 variant is being planned. While the JF-17 has PAF capability plans, it has so far failed to find an export customer.

PAF officials have described the JF-17 Block 3 as a fourth-generation-plus fighter, a term that is used to describe Western aircraft such as Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 60s, the Saab Gripen, Eurofighter Typhoon, and Dassault Rafale, among others.
Western officials have previously said that a first successful export of the JF-17 holds the key for the programme's long-term sustainment. Potential export customers mentioned as likely candidates for the JF-17 have included Egypt, Nigeria, Myanmar, and Venezuela.
Senior PAF officials have promoted the JF-17 as costing much less than comparable fighters produced by Western manufacturers. However, prospective customers are likely to consider established manufacturers ahead of PAC, which is a relative newcomer to the international market.

Nigeria is the perfect customer for JF-17. An oil rich nation plagued by many challenges and its air force in dire need of new airframes. This is excellent news for China/Pakistan. The hard work is eventually paying off and hopefully the deal will go through. Surely, this deal will open the doors for other customers. Consider it as an ice breaking moment for the JF-17.

Nigeria’s government and its armed forces and police are mistrusted by the people – nine out of 10 people said the police were corrupt in the 2013 Transparency International Global Corruption Barometer and 45 per cent said the military was corrupt.
The scandals surrounding so-called “security votes”, which allow politicians to appropriate millions of dollars behind closed doors simply by evoking “national security”, for example, are well documented.
Former president Sani Abacha is estimated to have allegedly siphoned off more than $1.1 billion using 60 “security votes”, leaving the Nigerian military extremely under-resourced. The slow response to Boko Haram’s abduction of the girls is a legacy of an institution not fit for purpose.
In the recent Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index, which rated 82 countries on their anti-corruption policies, Nigeria’s score indicated a very high level of corruption risk. It was criticised for its lack of overall transparency and having no anti-corruption plan in place for the military, no training for personnel, and significant opaque off-budget military expenditure."

We have good ties with Nigerian military ... PAF training Nigerian pilots:
Even their F-7s were maintained n serviced by Pakistan .. That reduced the grounding issues etc.. We have been trainin Nigerians since long ...PAF has worked with NAF, helping them and upskilling them to operate their F-7s. Their pilot errors and crashes have declined ever since PAF dispached their crew.
If this deal is done, our cooperation with NAF will extend to next 30 years. We'd be glad to help them build their air power. I'm sure NAF pilots will be looking forward to training with PAF's flyboys.
