ICC withdraws Asad Rauf from Champions trophy

Then what should have been done?????? Allow an umpire to run a big ICC event even when he is suspected to have links to bookies??????????

 if the bookie aka BCCI is running ICC why cant a suspect NOT culprit

^^^Its Indian police who uncovered all this fixing. Even last time when Azaharuddin caught for same it was Indian police.

We are not saving culprit like you doing by saving your players.
Raina never caught in any wrong doing but still thugs like Akmal brothers playing in your country.

ohhh for your kinf info he was seen with bookies in srilanka please go and get some info than come here roots of corruption and money deep in bcci

being seen with a bookie wont be enough.police shld have concrete evidence to nab any culprit.

police might have information of many other players involvement but they wont arrest them unless they feel their crime can be proved in court of law;see how they trapped sreesanth.I am glad tht india has evolved.these players wouldnt have been touched if this had been done some ten yrs ago in a tournament like ipl.govt wld have interfered saying it is the question of indias pride.pakistanis shld first set their home in order before talking abt india.their players roam scott free in pakistan.

There is a tamil movie called mudhalvan which got released in 99.In tht movie the hero complains tht there were thousands of cases pending against politicians and not even a single one got punished due to the slow judicial process and some other reasons.today we can see many politicians behind the bars atleast in the name of investigation.this is a big change tht happened in india.education is the key here.when ppl are literate they question the wrong doings of govt and demand their rights.

as for ipl,i feel it shld be scrapped for good.it has become a source for drinking, prostitution, fixing and what not.yesday i saw in extra innings deepika padukone and ranbir promoting their movie.Bollywood shld never be allowed with cricket.these stars are not only using ipl to increase their publicity but spoiling it with their dirty behaviour.cricketers are role models unlike bollywood stars.2 shld never be mixed.

sir your views are commendable but in this day and age, the the only thing that matters is 'money' and lots of it.

pulling asad rauf out of Champions trophy is a 'knee-jerk' reaction by the ICC who are sub-ordinate to the BCCI. the indian media is doing its utmost to somehow pin this 'spot-fixing' on pakistan and declare themselves as 'innocent'

Rauf investigation not confirmed

MUMBAI: Police said they were ‘investigating all the angles’ in the Indian spot-fixing scandal, but refused to confirm if they were targeting top Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf.

Rauf was withdrawn from next month’s ICC Champions Trophy in England amid media reports that he is under police investigation for spot-fixing, said the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Police in Mumbai would not confirm whether the umpire was being investigated as part of the probe which has led to the arrests of three Indian cricketers, including Test fast-bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, and 11 bookmakers.

A police official said ‘we are investigating all the angles’, adding that Rauf ‘has not been called in for interrogation’.

The ICC said the decision to withdraw Rauf was made after media reports on Wednesday ‘that the Mumbai police are conducting an investigation’ into the umpire’s activities.

“We feel that it is in Asad’s best interests as well as those of the sport and the event itself, that he is withdrawn from participating in the Champions Trophy,” the ICC said in a statement. “At this stage, the ICC has no further comment to make.”

On the contrary the media is blaming the BCCI squarely for the mess.

In a scam as big as this it is natural for threads to lead in all directions & Pak is one of them.

The rot is within that there is no doubt.

well time for ICC that do not send any pakistani official to indian indian govt said that thing several time so once indian govt said that we cannot give any pakistani security in india than why send pakistani icc official to india and i think it is mistake of rauf he wanted to go to ipl for dollars and now his career is over forever
