What is the use of these vehicles? I dont see a purpose of them in India or Pakistan. Transporting troops is fairly good done by the Toyota jeeps, and trucks.

We dont use those pick up trucks, we dont have toyota pick ups here. Weonly have TATA and Mahindra pickups, probably they are not used due to lack of protection.

Well as for your Q, this jeep can be used as anti tank platforms or with semi machine guns or control posts ( as the article states) or for special operations.
