IAF-HAL tiff threatens to shatter indigenization quest

HAL has dropped the ball BIG TIME on the following:

BTT (too long a wait)

Utility Helicopter ( same problem)

IJT (same probelm)

LCA (same problem)

When pilots die HAL does not have to take care of the families of dead pilots, the IAF does.

HAL needs to listen to the IAF.

The priorities should be:

IJT
LCA
Rafale
FGFA

LCA is not HAL product. HAL is only manufacturer. ADA is chief nodal agency to development of LCA.
LUH is not late. Its on time some tussle happen with Turbomeca on engine issue which is resolved now.
For BTT If IAF put same quality parameters in which they bought Pilatus then its also on track.

HAL main weakness is its pathetic production rate & bureaucracy.

Both organization are equally culprit. One side IAF put strict quality standards for HAL & other side loose parameters to help Pilatus to meet IAF requirements. This is not fare & its give clear signal that something is cooking. If they are sinciere then they put equal parameters but they discriminates HAL. I give full support to HAL in this move if IAF, IN or IA does not buy HAL's product then they can simply go world market. They develop BTA with their own funds & does not ask IAF or MOD for money then whats the problem of IAF. They buy foreign BTA then simply HAL markets its BTA to world market its not IAF business to tell them what to do.

HAL should realize with this incident that they does not have monopoly & they have to work hard to survive & grow. This incident helps HAL to make it competitive.

Remember same IAF use HAL's HPT-32 Deepak & AJT Kiran more than 4 decade. How the heck they survive so long in IAF's inventory if they are bad.

ANd what the heck IAF was doing all these years. If they were really interested in indigenous development, they should have got involved a long time back and asked MOD to sanction a project that will see a next generation training aircraft.

Now when the trainers are old and about to retire, IAF comes out with the request, don't they know it takes time to build something? Where the fu** is there long therm planning. It seems those sitting at the TOP in IAF only interested in their retirement planing.

And pinch of the salt is that they put high quality parameters to HAL & other hand they loosen parameters to Pilatus. Why not they put same standards on HAL in which they bought Pilatus. I am sure then this project not much delayed like now.

HAL continues to p1ss IAF off。

HAL is developing the trainer using its own resources, its internal matter. They can sell that to any one they want. WTF IAf is so concerned about the trainer when it itself has stated that HAL will take a long time to develop it? they can go ahead and induct their faren maal with diluted standards.

HAL makes 'faren maal' - its called licensed production, diluted standards? I dont know -maybe?. Wasting resources on projects of lesser value is madness, that is IAF's concern. Why does HAL want to give away 30% of the workload anyway? HAL needs to pick up its game. They need to work on things of increasing complexity, not the other way round. FGFA is strategically important, HAL must listen to IAF and work to their requirements as they are the ones who do the actual fighting, not HAL. I find it absurd that people from HAL even suggest such a thing!

This is stupidity, India developed HAL primarily to meet Indian AF requirements... What the use of having such a stupid organization if it was to pass 30% out of 50% work back to Russia on FGFA?

You can easily accuse IAF.... But the home grown PSU defence suppliers are greatest disappointment to India from 1947! Time to privatize the sectors..... Sorry Communism will NOT work for India!

IAF dominance must be curbed...

MoD should allow IN to have 10-15 Squadron of fighter planes...

Completely Idiotic argument... Where is the ACC to carry that!

HAL needs to develop. Now or later we have to develop it. Developing it will help HAL to make a platform.
And IAF is just bunch of idiots who want perfect world class product from home lab but will buy second level system from others.
Why Browne is jumping over pilatus ?
Why IAF downgraded the required critia for pilatus ?

Scrap the HAL! Or make it Privatized! HAL can give the goods after 20 years!

Only HAL is not responsible for it. It is management issue. Look at any government body and you ll notice that people who sit at top management and top officers are responsible for any action. If these people are corrupt then nobody can do anything.
Even if we bring private players in HAL, top management ll find other ways.
What we need to give good management and tight hand on HAL. So every project can work without problem.
