Yes dhruv does have troop carrying capability. it also has capability to undertake some SHBOs.

unit cost of saras can only be worked out wen production line is stabilised so no point debating now. only rough indicative cost can be ascertained.

The talks are going around for induction at Agra/chandigarh. no final word yet.

totally agreed. but we r so bending over back to americans these days i dont think govt can do a lil arm twisting.

Another example that comes to mind is the P8 poseidon deal. Our Civilian carriers buy boeing 737-800s at less than 80 million a piece. So we paid an extra 170 million for the sensor suite? Friggin unbelievable

Dude that includes the weapon cost also. And the sensor and avionics suite is not a simple digital speedometer we see in pulsar.The technology comes with a cost.

What we're paying for is their R&D. NOT the manufacturing cost. The USN doesn't even pay 150 mil for those planes. I'm not saying it shouldn't cost us that much. I'm just saying if the USA is trying to make us a strategic ally we should be offered prices comparable to what the UK or Canada pay as opposed to UAE and saudi arabia.
