Mate, it not that we hate them, it is just that there is matter of lack of trust between the two countries. Just a while ago they were supporting India's rival with weapons and other assistance. They also had sanctions on our organizations, with ISRO being one of them. The only reason they are helping us today is because they are in bad terms with Pakistan and because Indian economy is improving. With this being said the trust deficit currently is too high for us to partner with them matters of our rocket or manned space program.

I hear ya. It will take time and hopefully a change within US policy to go forward quicker.

Will never happen. India is a neutral country. And out political world is way too diverse to go into any alliance with the USA (CPI, Muslims etc..) And not to forget the opposition (may it be the BJP or UPA).

I believe that India should work closer with US. This can help India grow. India should not be too prideful and develop the relationship with the US like how Japan and Germany have with the US.
