IAF considering to buy 20 more LCA Mk1 version:says HAL chaiman.
Bullshit.....IAF is not buying any more mkI, although a decision to acquire more mkI might come from illiterate politicians. IAF will wait for mkII, they are not satisfied. Even I think we should not compromise to satisfy the egos of some agency. They have done a good job and everybody acknowledged it. Too much appreciation would spoil them.

It’s now official. India’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas will be given the initial operational clearance (IOC) in January 2011 and not on December 27.
What the heck....I hope this is final...

Just found these on another website as to possible changes on MK2 Tejas

Let me make a list of changes speculated about Mark-2

1. Nose Plug
2. Change in intake design
3. Lengthened fuselage and hence bigger wing due to increased wing chord
4. Landing gear moving into wing roots ala Gripen-NG
5. Levcons like Naval version
6. Lighter LRUs
7. Noose droop like Naval version
8. AESA
9. IRST
10. DIRCM
11. Active AESA conformal Jammers

DIRCM beeing developed for LCH, so I think it should go to LCA in future.
