PDF seems to feel that way. But based on what I read in Indian media, the opposition is gaining a lot of momentum in Pakistan. Indian media of course is not the best place to read about Pakistan. So we will have to wait and watch

I have several reservations about decision making of IK, but one thing is for sure. He is head and shoulders above the rest of the lot in honesty and passion about Pakistan.

IF you only look at who is against him, you feel like throwing up. All those "Maal Lau Na" Fazlu and confirmed thieves.

He might have some things to improve in him (we all do), but there is absolutely no doubt about his sincerity about making Pakistan a progressive country.

Dude seriously, please look at your statement again.....he was already the COAS but yes he got an extension and this wasn't the first time a military leader was asked to continue with his duties.

Let me tell you right now that PDF is NOT an accurate microcosm of the Pakistani society. Most Pakistanis don't much care about what gets discussed here. They are far more worried about economy and Law & Order than defense or army-related matters.

I have the opinion that Pakistanis know more about defense related issues than Indians. This is based on my interaction with Pakistanis at workplace. Indians do not have any idea about who is in charge of army and what not. The best you can expect from average Indians related to defense is that they know that there are 3 services : Army, Navy and Airforce. They don't know anything beyond that like who is leading these services etc. Pakistanis seem to know more and care more about these details. Especially about the army.

As for Pakistani politics, I see that Imran Khan seems to be good at rallying nationalism. He often compares Pakistan to India and this seems to strike a chord with the crowd. In some ways, he is using BJP's trick to win people's appeal. Have to see if that works for him
