@levina again my post had been queued for moderation... must be for the link... i had posted it about one hour ago... the below exercise is for finding the type of file... i don't know if your discussion with jon asad has solved the problem...

anyway, go through the steps in the screen-shot above... you can download the program from ( hhdsoftware com )... in home-page look for "free hex editor neo"...

your video when opened in hex-editor ( in read-only mode preferably ) should look as below...

yaar gad bad ho gayee :(
Hell that snipping tool is working on my staad pro software ONLY and not on the video. As soon as I switch on the snipping tool...and click "new" it goes blank.
I even tried @arp2041 's idea of rerecording the video being played on screen using VLC...but the video turned out blank.
All this is happening because as soon as I switch on the training video, any software which can capture screen doesnt work. Ab kya karo??
You can run VLC?

Yes I can.
@WebMaster @Jungibaaz why are my posts in this thread going for moderation??
I tried downloading it but due to admin rights issue I could not complete the download.
Out of frustration I also tried clicking the screen, but the quality was poor.On a huge smart board the guys would question if my presentation was captured from other training video and then might grill me as well. Its not easy to stand guilty in a room with 10-15 guys specially when you're a woman.Lol.
This is actually getting frustrating.uff!

I forgot to add that I was told that some kind DRM (digital rights management...or something to that effect) has been activated so no matter how hard I try I might not be able to take screen shots. :(
I am gonna try my cannon to take the screen shots. I don't see any other option.

Seems like the admin did not gave you the privileges to instal the software-

He said there's hardly any use because the training videos have been created using "all in one protector" (I'm dilettante...i don't understand much of these technical terms). And that even if I hack it I won't be able to see anything. :(

Well you will need extra programs to bypass "all in one protector" which i am afraid you dont have permission to install-

So all i can do now is to wish best of luck to you with your presentation -

I have a relatively fast net but installing softwares would be another issue as I dont have admin rights.
yes. To run Linux live cd in a office, you've to 1. download linux iso 2. use a software like Download and create a bootable live usb 3. restart pc! set BIOS/UEFI such that booting into Live usb Linux environment must be successful(F10 or F7 are some of the keys for listing boot options). and then searching for Linux video apps like totem, vlc, dragon player etc and figuring out taking screenshot..:o: It's a futile exercise if you've no time! Don't know if you've a friendly Linux geek out there!
