I don't have words to describe this image ........ I will suffice by saying picture says it all. For people who cannot read / understand Urdu the caption underneath the image reads "Gujranwala: Due to non availability of stretchers in District Headquarter Hospital's trauma center, a mother had to leave her sick daughter at door of lavatory, so she could get admission slip for her ailing daughter".
The purpose of creating this thread is to understand and get answer to one question that has been haunting me forever ........ how come a country that is rich in natural resources, has agricultural land, has the most scenic regions / areas full of tourism opportunities, has ocean belt, sits on strategic location on the world map, with youth making significant part of its population........ still fails / failed to lift the living standard of its population ......... why the hell people in big cities of this country have to drink polluted water when people of that city can afford latest model cars and vehicles? ........... may be I dumb, dimwit who doesn't understand that things are not so easy ... but I don't know why I feel that with whatever is available to us had it been any other people they would have made their country a living paradise for themselves in 70 years.
This is one of the images .......... there are thousands of such children and their families..... everyday on my way back home I come across children below (mostly) twelve year age ..... waiting at traffic lights with a bag of books and pens to sell or a wiper to wash windscreens of cars, or sitting in market areas with a bucket of water and cloth to make a living from anyone who wishes to get his car washed ........ whenever I look at these children something inside me dies everyday ....... there is that feeling of helplessness and hopelessness, and I keep wishing somehow some miracle would happen and I wouldn't see all this again ...... believe me all these children would make handsome men and beautiful women, beautiful people who can put Bilawal, Maryam and her brothers to shame in department of looks (in other departments there is no competition I don't find useless offspring of these politicians worthy enough).............I had this policy of not to give any money to begging children, I was foolish to believe that, this would discourage them ...... but then I realised discourage them from what? their daily sufferings, the things that are out of their control, the crimes that they never committed ....... now I feel I cannot do much for them .... my ten, twenty, fifty, hundred or even a thousand rupee is not sufficient to make their suffering go away ............ I do see the efforts of the society too to make this go away....... Whatever type of shop I visit there is this donation box there with labels "For poor and orphan" and there are many trusts, welfare organisations, NGOs working along with generous Pakistanis .............. but I don't know why we still see these pictures and images ...........
I am not interested in domestic politics and politicians anymore (to be honest and blunt I just wish all of them to die in one big accident ...... except few that can counted on fingertips) ........ I firmly believe in law of requital and am hopeful no matter if they spend millions to defend their billions but one day they will all pay for sufferings of these children and their families. Money in Pakistan was never an issue after passing away of Quaid e Azam ...... if it had been these billionaires won't be living in Pakistan, we won't be seeing these thieves lie bluntly on our faces, we won't be made fools every other day by the same lot again and again ....... may family's three generations have seen the same prime minister ...... my father, me and now my children ........... and I can only see them defending again and again their own interests ........ they have only been interested in building things that would benefit them and increase wealth of their useless offspring ....... I haven't seen them worrying much about my hospitals, schools, and very basic needs. And I do understand they are not alone the bureaucrats, and Jarnails of this country are equally responsible ..... I am yet to see one of them living in a 1000 sqft house after their retirement instead of state provided luxurious bungalows.
