we have nehar near by.we had barren peice of land that side.it was from years left un ploughed..we use to hit them with sticks. but they have natural protection...@MarkusS
When i was a kid, i killed a turtle once. I cannot explain how much i regret that, i wish i could go back and say sorry to him.
When i get there, most definately.
Btw, they love mud and water, they like to stay cool, since they can swim, they also like deep water catchment areas.
On my farm, we have a little catchment area where these beauties live with some frogs and other small animals. What we do, is pump fresh water into it and also add natural fertilizer and plant seeds to make it more like a green ecosystem.
Turtles also like sand, especially for burying their eggs
