India to grow 6.9 percent in 2012-13: World Bank

"The Indian economy will grow by 6.9 percent in this financial year (2012-13) notwithstanding problems like policy uncertainties, fiscal deficit and inflation, the World Bank projected today, while cautioning that developing nations will have to face tougher times.

“India will see growth (measured at factor cost) increasing to 6.9, 7.2 and 7.4 percent in fiscal years 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15, respectively,” the World Bank said in the report titled Global Economic Prospects."

And world bank is not Indian :P

^^^ Here is a World Bank prediction from last year, and the thread about it:

How did it turn out?

Indians are always living on "predictions", but they always fail to live up to them. They never live on actual present data and facts, that is the difference between us.

.
But today we are talking about some hyper sadness about Indian economy as the thread title goes.

What you are failing to understand is Indian economy has lot of Strong HIDDEN potential in it with lot of strong HIDDEN fundamentals, it will bounce back again just like the super man who bounced back after fighting the death star

Dont underestimate the INDIA IS THE SUPER HYPER POWER OF THE WORLD

Do you think the Indian govt may have been massaging figures?? Maybe the growth was not really that high at all?

Well, India was actually caught trying to fudge their own economic data:

India Overstated Exports by $9 Billion - Forbes

Very stupid to try and fake export data, since the numbers can easily be double-checked by the countries who receive the exports.

Why dont you laugh at world bank ?? You believe all negative predictions on Indian economy dont you ?? :P

As I have said time and time again, I don't believe any predictions about the future.

Since obviously, no one can see the future. And I especially despise any glorified predictions about China's economic future, especially those ones that were specifically designed to boost egos.

lol...at least not at the cost of killing millions of protesters and depriving parents from having a second child...your buildings might look tall and beautiful than ours but your foundation is as worse as your arrogance and expansionist thought process…

Yes it would appear people could get very sad about Indian economy leading to suicides etc. For example the truth may be worse:

Sujan Hajra: Facts about official figures
Fourth quarter GDP data includes a spurious trade surplus, suggesting that the final growth figure is even lower

I did not want to put too explicit an article on here for fear of offending or making people too sad so only those that have the stomach and constitution should click on the link

Yeah, so true and that's the reason china tried to fool others

Can You Trust China's Economic Figures?

Some excerpts from the report

But, according to some reports, the government manufactures China’s official statistics. Diplomatic cables published by the whistleblower site Wikileaks earlier this year allege that key Chinese officials have admitted China’s GDP numbers and other reports are largely “man-made.

Now you are accusing "junk" of being a Pakistani too?

You Indians are great, you can't stand up to any flag except Pakistan's.

and finally you achieved the target...so taking home 100 cents today...lol....having party with your GF /BF ???? lofl

We are talking about the Indian economy; not the Chinese.
